Hi guys,
I am getting a blank page with this template set as default (page can not be shown).
When I switch to another template, all is fine. What could be wrong? I installed the template with dummie content installed.

July 25, 2009 at 6:54 pm #312204You’ve got a Java error on the front page. Usually occurs with showcase modules…or an article that’s been uploaded with an image that is too incredibly huge the auto-resizer can’t handle it.
Two things to try:
+ One by one…disable any new articles recently posted to the front page…until you find the one that’s causing the problem.
+ One by one…Disable modules that appear on the front page. Until you find the offending module.Once found…come back here if you need to and we can help you figure out how to use what you’ve had to disable.
Have fun!

July 25, 2009 at 7:12 pm #312207John,
thnx for your quick reply.
I switched all active modules off one by one but no results, the same with the frontpage articles. When I just installed the template this morning it worked shortly. Only thing I did was SEO friendly urls on and add suffix off and apache rewrite on.
Tried putting the settings back to default but no result.

July 25, 2009 at 7:29 pm #312210You are correct the Joomla SEO Friendlies can really kill a template.
Absolutely turn all three of those items off.If that doesn’t work, and you are sure your cache is cleared out, then I’d blow out the template and reinstall the template…that shouldn’t affect any of the content as you say you can switch from one template to another.
Good luck,

July 25, 2009 at 7:37 pm #312213no idea what the problem could be, cleaned my cache, router cache, put seo on off. reinstalled the template, no luck. I am wondering if there are more with this problem.

July 25, 2009 at 7:41 pm #312215Looks like you’ve got a Permission issue.
The parameter file /templates/ja_raite/params.ini is unwritable!
This would explain why the template did work for a while. But as soon as a parameter needed to be changed (i.e. when you went to change the SEO, etc.) then it crashed when it couldn’t write the file.
I believe the setting you need is 0755 if memory serves.

July 25, 2009 at 8:41 pm #312221params.ini automatically sets it self to unwritable after every usage for security reasons, make sure it is set to 755 when you make the SEO changes on your site, but it will not stay on 755

John,
The template seems to be up again. I put para.ini on 755 and then switched on SEO again. I have put the 3 demo section/news flash articles back on and for now it works. Feel free to have a look when you have time.
