    got this when installing:

    1 – An error has occurred.

    Not run ALTER TABLE `#__jav_items` ADD `use_anonymous` TINYINT( 1 ) NULL DEFAULT ‘0’ AFTER `guest_file`
    Not run ALTER TABLE `#__jav_items` ADD `is_private` TINYINT( 1 ) NULL DEFAULT ‘0’ AFTER `use_anonymous`;

    however the component is on the joomla menu and i can access the admin functions and create forums, etc.

    when i access the component on the front end, i do see problems though… i can’t seem to add a new question (the only thing i’ve tried). it keeps saying the captcha isn’t correct, even though i’ve typed 10 of them and i’m sure i got at least most of them right…

    you can see my results at http://www.keystonecolorado.com/main-menu/ask-an-expert

    (there are also css issues on the page due to my use of a dark background… btw, any tips there other than diving into the css?)

    some background: i just downloaded and subcribed to try out ja voice. i’m trying to make it so that anyone can submit a question (about keystone resort colorado) without logon and questions then get moderated to cut out the spam and answered by a group of ‘experts’ or moderators. then questions and answers can be searched and even commented on. i think ja voice can do this… i’m trying to find out now.

    Not run ALTER TABLE `#__jav_items` ADD `use_anonymous` TINYINT( 1 ) NULL DEFAULT ‘0’ AFTER `guest_file`
    Not run ALTER TABLE `#__jav_items` ADD `is_private` TINYINT( 1 ) NULL DEFAULT ‘0’ AFTER `use_anonymous`;

    Hi barryskyrun,

    Ok I might have a solution for you. At least it worked for me.

    First uninstall using Joomla uninstall tools. Than you will have to clean up all remaining tables of JA Voice from phpmyadmin. They start with Jos_jav . Drop all those.

    After everything is gone just install 1.4.0 version and than upgrade it to 1.4.1. You should now have fully working 1.4.1 JA Voice.:laugh:

    Hope this helps.

    this works perfectly, thanks rexous! hard to believe you can’t install 1.4.1 directly, but if you don’t install 1.4.0, then install 1.4.1, it gives the error message and is indeed doens’t install completely… hope someone from joomlart sees this so it can be fixed.

    Hello,
    This is a bug. I have created a bug report :
    http://pm.joomlart.com/browse/JAVOICE-376

    I will release fix for this in the next version.
