I feel ripped off. I wish I saw all the discussion about poor service before I signed up. I did not get a response to a pre-sales question. That should have tipped me off to what was ahead.
[rant]Now I am waiting for a response to a PM to the admin about my thread not being answered or even commented on. It is not right that I do not get a response to a thread, send a PM about it and then have to create this thread about not receiving a response to the PM. [/rant]
The template that is the reason I signed up and PAID to use does NOT work. It is not a Joomla problem it is a template problem so please support staff take a look or offer me another solution to my problem.

September 5, 2008 at 9:37 pm #269002you feel ripped off after 1 post??
can you at least provide a link to your site so people can see what is wrong?
September 5, 2008 at 11:31 pm #269011Yes, I feel ripped off after a product I purchased does not work and not getting support or even acknowledged by the staff.
I made the site viewable and the link is in the thread. It is a fresh, clean install direct from the file I downloaded with no edits from me at all which is why I did not provide a link in the first place.
I’m sure this is a great community, I’ve heard good things.

September 5, 2008 at 11:45 pm #269013see my rule number 3

http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/my-rule-number-3-try-try-again/
the link you posted for us to see does not work
as this quickstart does work for the rest of us, i would suspect it an issue with the way you are installing it or a server issue.
a reinstall is a lot faster than trying to debug a failed installation
I would also suspect that it is the port number that is crashings, I have local installs on both wamp and and apache, I never needed to use a port number to even see it across my own network.

September 6, 2008 at 1:23 am #269030yeah, i looked it up on the joomla forum and it is recommended not to use the port number, the example in the link is for a mamp setup, but its the same thing i do on my server environments
1 user says Thank You to mj1256 for this useful post
September 6, 2008 at 6:18 am #269044Thanks mj1256.
Research I should have done myself. It is still surprising to me that it does not work. The joys of open source. I installed many times with the same result which made me believe it was the template that is the problem.
Thank you for responding to me in a polite manner even though I was showing frustration.
Thanks given
