I need help folks. I downloaded the Corona template but need full instructions on loading them up locally onto my pc (XP) so I can play around with it before actually taking it live.

What do I need to do to get started, and I mean basics here. Do I need to run some software first be4 installing Joomla 1.5 or what? becoz its not running when I try to install it.

    Hi,
You must install apache server, mysql database & php to run joomla. Lucky, all of them are included in XAMPP, you can download XAMPP here and install on your computer.
After installation, there is a folder named “xampp” in C driver. Copy all source code of joomla in to C:xampphtdocs and then open your browser, type url as: http://localhost/[your site name – name of folder that contain joomla source code] . Example, your joomla source code folder name joomla1.5.1, you can type url as: http://localhost/joomla1.5.1

if you already have a website and can ftp, you can install it in a subfolder of an existing site and avoid the xampp set up.

if your interested in learning, xampp is very easy to install.
