It would be similar switching between templates from backend.

September 7, 2010 at 6:01 pm #354844Teline series have a speed problem. After starting to use the template we must spend lots of time to optimize our sites. Still I couldn’t achieve a reasonable speed. I have removed most of the modules from my Teline III site. But I am not an expert and I can’t remove remaining codes from CSS and other parts (if there exists any code in somewhere else). Therefore, instead of increasing the number of modules, I am expecting to see a faster site!

September 7, 2010 at 6:11 pm #354846I believe we all need more speed from the new Teline !!!
September 8, 2010 at 4:25 pm #354947ill echo the remarks of a number of other posts.
Speed is a big problem with the teline templates especially teline3
If that can be fixed I think that would be the single biggest achievement in making teline4 a success
Also do we expect a release date on this template?
September 10, 2010 at 7:47 pm #355155Upgrading from teline II to teline IV needs to be something simple, or at least needs to be well documented. I´m stuck with teline II because upgrading to teline III is not as simple as changing the default template in the backend, please think about this. One more thing.. It would be a good thing to let the visitors on our websites to decide if they use teline II or teline IV, that is an option that you can´t give with teline II and teline III because both templates do not work together.

September 10, 2010 at 8:27 pm #355157I don’t think that this can be done since Teline II is not even on T3 Framework.

September 13, 2010 at 11:51 am #355389its crazy actually..
lot of bugs reported by members in Social.. dont know about the stable release. No News yet on Community Plus & Teline. Its frustrating to take up any new projects without knowing atleast a approx stable release timelines..
September 13, 2010 at 4:29 pm #355401I hope the new Ja Teline IV is something like this site….Just a module with big picture for fout headlines and the a choice of modules for other section and category. K2 is probably ok to create blog for the single jornalist, but it’s important to have section for video and photo gallery.
Here one sample that I find really good for a newspaper on line (http://www.ilsole24ore.com/)Paul Wallen FriendPaul Wallen

September 14, 2010 at 12:06 pm #355482I tried all of the Telines of the past and one major issue kept me from using Teline 3; SPEED.
Also, JA News did not allow enough flexibility for display of certain categories.

September 17, 2010 at 12:04 pm #355817Well, whatever you decide to do with Teline IV, I will not be using it unless:
– It is built for speed from the ground up. Looking at Teline III and the way images are always loaded by visitors through the extremely high number of CSS files as well as looking at the ridiculous habit of loading all scripts in every page (even when they are not used), this will be a major effort. But – speed is everything. There is no point in building a nice website to attract a lot of visitors if the site is so inefficient that it will scare people away!
– Every module and plugin offers the same set of features when it comes to image resizing while not loosing aspect ratio for example. How on this planet could it happen that mod_janews2 can resize images and keep aspect ratio, whilst mod_janews_fp does not have this ability?
– It has easily configurable plugins and modules. There should not ne a need to search (!) through various CSS files to find out how a magazine type menu can be made to show up in the same colors as the mod_janews module… And I say *SEARCH* because that is what the current situation is. Documentation is so poor that you have to search and fiddle to get things adjusted.
– It offers mobile / phone / handheld device support that actually works. Unlike the current Iphone suport for example that simply sucks because not all of the modules are aware of what the Iphone can and cannot do. Specifically when it comes to embedding media like images or video.
btw – i’m using Teline III on http://www.hucclecotehouse.com
