October 6, 2011 at 4:50 pm #169391Building a site based on JA Business proceeds splendidly but there are some curiosities.
I wonder if you can shed any light on why these things happened?
- The top menu changed from linking to the appropriate page to all items linking to home. My solution to this was to use the menu item pages to give me the complex address, use that to browse to the page, collect the SEF address and change the menu link to an external URL.
- I use a hidden menu for pages not accessed from the normal menus. When I adjusted the width of the template it appeared on all the pages. My solution was to unpublish all the items on the menu but, since it was not linked to any module, it surely should not have appeared.
- The mysterious ‘Article’. On some pages the word Article appears at the top of the page. No solution for this yet.
Otherwise everything goes splendidly for an uncertain client. Uncertain in the sense that they cannot make up their mind as to what they want to do. Such is life.
Thanks for any help

October 6, 2011 at 6:41 pm #417350I used ja-ext-manager to check and found that the T3 framework needed an update as did two other extensions neither of which I use.
All were updated.
Is that what you meant?
Could you enlighten me as to what has been changed? And how the previous version could have caused the described effect?
The menu worked well for 3 days. Then it referred everything to the home page. The menu item pages and the module connection had not been changed.
Find it really hard to understand. And I quite like understanding what I am doing?
Thanks for your help.

October 6, 2011 at 10:48 pm #417367Hi,
I am not sure ( i haven’t checked to be honest) what is changed by our dev’s but i can see that you have an issue with mod_rewrite is this a linux Os server or windows ?
So is this problems fixed or not ?
Regards
Manos

October 7, 2011 at 7:10 am #417446Dear Manos
Thank you for that.
The site is for a group who are really unclear about what they want. So we are taking the (longer) democratic road. It is visible to about a dozen people.
So the problem is not solved but it has been avoided. I redefined how the menu item linked to the page and – from a functional point of view – everything is fine.
What I found curious is that it all worked normally for 3 days and then suddenly collapsed. I did not touch mod_rewrite, I do not believe that I did anything to that menu or to the associated module. Just wondered how it could happen. All part of the learning process.
Thanks again
