I set the default settings according to my needs and are not respected by the articles. Icons are always shown (Email, Print, PDF) and also the author and clicks.

Hi,
Do you mean that you set hide icon in global configuration but article still show them? Maybe your article doesn’t use global configuration for “Show icon”. You should check again Article Options of article, set them is “use global”
