If Microsoft would just make their browsers more compliant we wouldn’t have to hack our designs just to make them look good. That would be enough. Then it wouldn’t matter if people used it or not.

AOL was once a giant in the internet. It did not have a good vision of the future though. Now, its past is but a memory. The 800 pound gorilla became a mite.

I think that was the point. To let you fill in the blanks by using your imagination. Anyway, here is my best guess at translation and trying not to be vulgar…

    “the stupid f***ing piece o’ sh*t co.”

Hope that helps you understand better. LOL…

    Hello,

In India especially, people (atleast in their 40s) still use internet explorer! Sadly even government websites, bank websites, are only accessible using IE6. Which is sadly one of the worst things that can happen. Sadly since most of that generation uses IE6, i have to keep the site backward compatible.

Few of the sites i have built have a ie6 visitor percentage of 36.5 which is HUGE!

So in India , saying bye bye to IE6 isnt even near…

    Mihir.
PS: can you hear me cry? 🙁

I will be so happy that IE6 percentage are begin so low. Anyway I found it was hard to make new website with IE8. My websites disposition is often strange with IE8. I don’t understand how.

I really do not understand all the technology behind. However, with the increasing popularity of mobile internet devices (MIDs), and the embrace of the still to be approved HTML5 (as standard) by such players like Apple, Google, Firefox, Opera and a number of other major players involved in the field, even MS Internet Explorer (IE) supposedly has begun to consider complying with HTML5.

Whether HTML5 itself will succeed in creating a more “universal” standard is another story.

During transition from one technology to another (horse carriage to motorized vehicles), or from one standard to another, there is always a “rationale” to hold on to the old technology. It is indeed foolish not to support certain choices during transition. However, the rationale whether to effect change or maintain status quo, must not rest mainly on “market share” because that can change. Instead, such change must consider also how a technology or choice is affecting the evolution, innovation, ease of use and compatibilities of differing choices.

What website creators can do is to promote the transition to what they believe would be beneficial. It can even be IE itself, if one thinks it is for the best. As a template creator, if Joomlart believes in HTML5, it should make sure to promote compliance with HTML5 in its template scripting and design. For example, do Joomlart templates provide access to those who are visually impaired? Apart from those who are actually blind, the aging of societies and longevity have increased the percentage of the population who are visually impaired.

Anytime someone would ask me about some work if they had an AOL address I would send them off packing.
