I am attempting to add the google analytics script to my sites main page. Have limited html experience.

I am working with Joomla 1.5.3

I do know how to use Joomla Template manager to open html.

My question is where do I insert the script?

Any assistance will be appreciated.

If you read carefully instructions from Google, it says: Copy the following code block into every webpage you want to track immediately before the </body> tag

So, open your template (by FTP connection, and some text editor, like notepad), look for </body> and paste code before it. If everything is ok, you will see that you are recieving Receiving Data (it needs 24h to catch data)

Thanks I had read that at google.

Had a case of tempory insanity I was working on wrong template :((

I found the body tag and google now checks ok
