August 24, 2012 at 3:30 pm #180206i recently set up google apps emails for my startup. during the process, i verified my domain successfully and the email addresses function fine……except….
since godaddy’s email forwarding system experiences delays and daily limits, i decided to have gmail handle my mail.
so, i went into the mx details of my dns manager and made the changes (godaddy has an automated tool to do so).
then, i went into my joomla backend > global configuration > server.
and put in the details for the gmail account. see screenshot for my input details.yet, when i use the contact form, i get an error “following “from” address failed.
my concerns :
1. i do not get the message at this address (meaning, the TO address is not getting set as studio@chochoma.com)
2. i was not using studio@chochoma.com as the FROM address. i was using a completely different email i.d (like an unknown visitor would use on the contact form)…. why is that? or am i interpreting this incorrectly?what am i doing wrong?
how do i set up my site so that (1). all emails sent from the form to go to studio@chochoma.com
(2). the “from” address to show up correctly (as the visitor’s?)on a side note: i put in a gmail address on the contact page (chochomastudios@gmail.com). which works fine, cos it uses the mail program on my machine for sender. i receive that email fine. just not the one via the form.

August 27, 2012 at 4:11 am #465420Hello anjalivasan,
You should assign an user to contact which you’re using in your contact form on front-end. In that case, “TO address” will be e-mail address of that user.
Regards.
