One any other template I can correctly use Google Maps but on this one I just get a blank area on the screen. I read in another forum that it may be a transparency issue that can be fixed by finding div.article, etc in the template.css. However, in this template there is no such code. Any ideas wise forum?

August 20, 2009 at 11:59 pm #314954Is the template you are trying now on a separate domain? The API is domain specific.
Failing that post or PM me a live URL for a look.

August 21, 2009 at 9:52 am #314967Hi, I’ve had a look at your site and it would appear the script to display your map is being generated correct but the HTML to embed the map is not. Only and empty <div id=”map” /> is being created.
I suggest you seek support from EZ realty or whomever built that map plugin. Sorry.

Thanks Scotty. What is interesting though is that I have tried it on multiple computers and 1 out of 3 or so actually shows the map. Maybe a java version issue? I have also asked EZ and I am awaiting a reply but it does work consistently on any non-JA template that I have tried.
November 25, 2009 at 12:23 am #324847HI, I know this is 3 months after your post, but did you find the problem? I have a similar issue and I think I may have a clue to the problem. I am using ja_rochea with EZ Realty for mapping with the API’s issued from google. The site works fine always in firefox, but in IE8, my maps don’t show up, just blank screens. Then I discovered the “compatibility view” button in IE8. It is next to the refresh button at the top of my screen. It says “Use compatibility mode for web sites that are built for ‘older’ browsers and this will fix issues such as out-of-place- menus, text, etc.”
So I clicked on the compatibility mode button, and the maps all display as they should!
So now the question is, is ja_rochea built to handle IE8? What is this compatibility mode on IE8?
Hope this helps and I would like to know if there is a fix for ja_rochea and IE8.
Thanks.

November 26, 2009 at 2:34 am #325019Hmm..
I have accessed all items in the “ISLAND MAPS” menu, i saw they work well,
Please give me the link to the problem page ..
November 26, 2009 at 2:57 am #325020Yes they all work because i added the code to make IE8 run in compatibility mode in the <head> tag of ja_rocheas index.php. I was wondering if the JA_rochea template had a ‘fix’ for the IE8 problem that many JA template users are experiencing. Or is the ‘fix’ what I did, put IE8 into compatibility mode?
Thank you.
