February 15, 2008 at 2:27 pm #125726Im fairly new to the Joomla Experience (well web design 2.. started about a year ago) joining Joomlart was one of the best things i have done. Ive started a new web design company webmerized and these templates have been a great help. Ive already got some great responses from the few customers that I have. I would refer anyone to this site. Joomlart …you guys do a great job…keep it up!

February 19, 2008 at 12:50 pm #239518Thanks…..yea i think that people always complain more than compliment . Joomlart overall does a great job, and i dont think that should be over shadowed by that complaints.

hehe, made me laugh. I am at least as ****** off with this company (are they? there is not much company / contact information available on the site…) as you – just look at my other threads.
But one note, to keep it fair,(((apart from the fact that some of the older members here have developed sort of “Stockholm syndrome” over the years and defend JA beyond reason, or maybe the JA that it once was, if myth is right…)))
I think JA is a great ressource – if you are a developer. Their templates look great, and if you are a dev and able to fix and modify things yourself, they provide a great starting point at a reasonable price.
BUT – JA’s advertizing is VERY misleading. Not only do they make false claims (like being “Joomla 1.5 compatible”, instead of admitting that they are working through the bugs of their “beta” releases), but they clearly target novices and normal users as well, not just developers and webdesign companies.
And if you are a normal user with reasonable knowledge of server administration and CMSs – you are very much **** up here, because the stuff does not work as advertized, and if you run into problems there is no reliable support, and not everything can be solved via user-to-user support.
So I CAN understand the (few) positve testimonials – they usually are from developers and resellers. But the rest of us has a reason to complain. And actually WAY more than one.
February 27, 2008 at 9:13 pm #240472If you are a novice like myself avoid Joomlart like the plague. My host company had installed Joomla 1.5 and the Genista template I tried to install is not 1.5 compatable, no matter what they say. Istallation was a nightmare that failed, there is no support unless you want to pay Joomlart an installation fee, and the tutorials seem to be written for Joomla 1.0. Save your money and shop somewhere that offers free support if you think your going to need it. This may be a great place for a developer, but stay away if your a Joomla if your just learning.

Have you actually tried downloaded the 1.5 version?
With that it install like a hitch, and if you can’t do that, I dont really think it is a responsibility of Joomlart, and you should try checking out the help on the Joomla main website!beastmode54 JA JobBoardbeastmode54
