This is for Joomla 1.5 and before you ask me to send the URL, I’m on an intranet.
I can’t publish my website until next month so I have plenty of time to test it.These are my gripes with this template, and from working with it I have learned that JoomlaArts are just taking snipets of code and modules from here and from there and repackaging them to their products, which is not bad at all, the problem is how they implement them and do not proof read their English, the instructions are way cryptic, and what should be explanations are mere descriptions:
1 – JA Slideshow – does not work with Safari (mac OS X – does not animate)
Why?: Because they didn’t test the template for MAC of course.2 – JA Slideshow – the screen png must be risized manually – WHY? (please don’t tell me to send you the URL, that has nothing to do with the way I installed it)
Why?: Because they took this module from someone else and haven’t adapted it well to this template (some person in the forum suggested you re size the screen manually – And what the heck is “resire”???)3 – JA Tabs – modules are redundant, why tell it where to take the modules form if they are already published?
Example – if I indicate JAtabs to take the modules form the left we would see the same modules on the left and on JA Tabs – there must be a better way to implement this!
Most people will be ok with this by just typing code and not using it for the modules.
Why?: Again this is a repackaged module.4 – JA Tabs – the Labra CSS folder was missing from the installation, I had to install it manually as someone proposed on another thread.
Why?: someone forgot to include it.5 – JA Tabs – Is there a possibility to have an editor field (like TinyMCE) for the content? not all of us would like to type or paste code there <code></code>
6 – JA Flowlist – It is absolutely NOT possible to have any other image in that flowlist if it’s not the last image from the article.
Why? Sloppy adaptation.7 – JA Flowlist – Your images will not show up if you use any editor other than the default TinyMCE.
Please try to understand my frustration as I didn’t get this template exactly free.
Thank youMenalto FriendMenalto

A: I tested this on safari for PC, but there also is a user here that tested on safari for mac, and no problem show up at that time.2 – JA Slideshow – the screen png must be risized manually – WHY? (please don’t tell me to send you the URL, that has nothing to do with the way I installed it)

A: When you say screen png, which image are you talking about?
3 – JA Tabs – modules are redundant, why tell it where to take the modules form if they are already published?

A: Somehow it should be so lets say you have have a module position in the template called “tabs”, and all modules you
publish in the “tabs” position will show up in the tab module, instead of be needed to choose a module position to use.
4 – JA Tabs – the Labra CSS folder was missing from the installation, I had to install it manually as someone proposed on another thread.
Why?: someone forgot to include it.
A: Not the first time.
5 – JA Tabs – Is there a possibility to have an editor field (like TinyMCE) for the content? not all of us would like to type or paste code there <code></code>
A: It should maybe be possible to get that, not sure though. I guess a request to the developers about this will give an answer.
6 – JA Flowlist – It is absolutely NOT possible to have any other image in that flowlist if it’s not the last image from the article.
Why? Sloppy adaptation.
A: Not good at all.
7 – JA Flowlist – Your images will not show up if you use any editor other than the default TinyMCE.
A: Didnt test it out yet, so cant say yes or no to that.July 18, 2008 at 11:22 am #260714hey menalto thanks for taking your time to reply man.
On point No. 1.
How do you get the navigation controls to show up? do they show up for you?On point No. 2.
There is a screen png that acts as a mask for the module, it gives it rounded edges, should you decide to re size the module to put it in a different position the “screen” stays about 900 x 300 and then everything outside it remains square. (no rounded edges) this shouldn’t be done manually. On point No. 3.
Fair enough but how do you get the modules only to show only in the tabs and not on both positions.Cheers.

A: Hmmmmm,it did, but i have never had any success with get this navigation to work as it shouldOn point No. 2.

But i dont know how the dev’s at JA have been thinking. This again put another question in my head”Can you use multiple modules of this module to show tabs in?”
If so, then i would have coded so you used “tab1”, “tab2” and so on. Then you can put all modules you wanna show in tab1 in tab1 position. In your case, you NEED to find a module position that is not used before and put the modules in, i would choose cpanel, since JA templates never use cpanel module posiiton.
Then you will avoid the modules to show up twice.1 user says Thank You to Menalto for this useful post
July 18, 2008 at 11:57 am #260722You have saved my arse in more ways than one with the cpanel option.
You’ve been long enough here to know wether if the copypasters erm… developers could be made to solve the kinks outThank you once again.
