November 15, 2009 at 9:44 am #146046Hi there!
I’ve asked this questions a couple of times and haven’t heard anything, so I thought I’d try here again.
The template – Halite is NOT working on our new site. When you try to log in, the pages show up blank. I’ve had multiple programmers try and correct the problem to no avail.
The problem is a cookie issue with my website using a combination of:
“Jomsocial and Jsubscription for Jomsocial” using this template, Halite. It is a very
unique and specific problem.“It does not work because of the way the skin handles cookies for the titles and login,
therefore, when you try and login, the page goes blank.”“When you log in you set a ‘cookie’ the login cookies are taken over by jsubscription and
ja_halite also mangles the default cookies to deal with other neat stuff and somehow when
you mix jsubscription, jomsocial, and halite together the site blows up.”How can this be corrected? Does anyone know?
We are launching our new website this week and I need a working template using all of the elements listed above asap. Thanks.
Please let me know or can recommend another great template like this one. Again, thanks!

I got the template from being a member HERE on Joomlart.
The one template I wanted to “officially” use for my website, I downloaded. Because I was happy with the selection I downloaded, I did not renew, as I did not need any other templates. Just the Halite.
Now (of course) I cannot post and ask for help because I did not renew my subscription 3 weeks ago, as I did not think I would encounter any problems or issues with the template.
I DID pay and I WAS a member for 4 months (or whatever). It’s not really fair that I cannot post for help, using a template I purchased through Joomlart that does not work. (I’ve written a few other posts in other forums here, but to no avail.)
I apologize. I don’t mean to sound grumpy, but I am sure other people have subscribed prematurely (my site was supposed to be done in July so I subscribed in July to quickly find a template). Finally after many delays it is set to launch, now with a template that seems to not be compatible.
Anyway, thanks so much for the reply or any help or advice you can offer.

November 15, 2009 at 8:25 pm #323632Jsubscription appears to be clashing somewhere but I cannot tell where. You have absolutely tons of extensions and components installed (includin ja-jobboard, jomsocial, jsubscription and many others) so it is hard to tell exactly the cause.
It looks like the login override could be the culprit but I am a little strapped for time to really investigate.
Did you raise a ticket while you were still a member through the ticket system?

November 15, 2009 at 9:11 pm #323633Yes, if you switch to a different template in the backend, the login works fine on other templates.
I did not raise a ticket while I was a member 3 weeks ago because the “beta” site was not available to me to use/install on.
Only (the day) AFTER my subscription ended was the site available and the template officially uploaded.
That is when we discovered it did not work.
I hope there is a solution. Thanks for your time.

December 1, 2009 at 7:08 pm #325434Hello,
We are getting ready to launch our site, and I still do not have any answers.
This template does NOT work with the following components listed on my new website. That is why I joined. To have a cool working template on my new site. Halite does not work with my site.
Can this be corrected? Or should I continue to ask for a refund, as I cannot use this template I paid for.
Please let me know. This issue has been going on for a long time now, with no solutions and i am out of time.
Thank you.

December 2, 2009 at 3:48 am #325468Dear liquidindustry,
We are sorry for the unexpected experience you faced with JA Halite.
As we replied to you via ticket ID#(XRI-789795) dated 24 Nov 2009 05:53 PM, our admin staff has checked the issue on your site and has applied other Joomla default templates for testing purpose. However, the error occurs on those templates also.
Though JA Halite has not been well tuned with Jomsocial or JSupscription, all our templates deals with design aspects only without modifying core files of Joomla! standard, thus normally it work well with all Joomla 3rd party extensions.
Thus, at that time, we recommend you to check if the root of issue might be due to other extensions installed on your site also by keeping contact with associated providers for further solution. Kindly confirm whether you have any answers from them yet.
Meanwhile, the best solution now is that you create a testing site, send us the Jsubscription & Jomsocial component. We shall reinstall and crosscheck the whole system if it works or not.

December 21, 2009 at 8:57 pm #327134These issues I have written about do NOT occur on other templates.
That is why we know there is ONLY a problem with JA Halite,
I have paid out of my own pocket, money to Joomlancers to try and correct it. They said it was impossible and to contact you. I did. Months ago.
I have also requested a refund, as I had to sign back up to:
a.) be able to post my problems here and respond and get answers.
b.) find and download another template that actually worked with the extensions mentioned.
Because JA Halite did not work and I contacted you, I should be credited back by membership.
I do not feel comfortable issuing my user details and test website again for you to reinstall Jsubscription and Jomsocial. My developer would probably also get mad as he has worked with people from this site to try and correct it, JA Halite, as well with no success. I issued that information early on and people here said JA Halite simply did not work.
Please let me know about the status. Thanks for your time.

December 21, 2009 at 11:27 pm #327142Sorry to hear you are still having trouble. I am sure you can appreciate that we cannot test templates with every combination of joomla add-on out there. There could be many causes of your issues but without copies of jomsocial and jsubscription we just cannot test for you. So, either do as suggested and provide us with a clean install and those components installed along with full access and an ftp account and we can try to take a look.
If that is not possible then try the following.
First we need to work out which component is conflicting. Does removing one or the other cure the problem?
If it does, ask on the makers websites if their packages are know to have any problems with template overrides. If the answer is yes then try to find out which ones might be the cause. Aside from the template overrides (which override the joomla core files) the templates are purely visual so I doubt that they will cause the problems you are getting.
So, next we need to narrow down which template override may be at conflict with another component. We can do this by opening templates>ja_halite>html in your ftp app.
In there you will see a load of folders. These are the overrides. One at a time rename them to see if the problem goes away (restore the folder name after each test). If you do find one of the overrides is the cause then report back and we can test further. I would start with mod_login as from a brief look, jsubscription does something funny to the Joomla mod_login.

December 22, 2009 at 5:59 am #327154No, I don’t think I have. Not remotely. I have emailed you back.
I cannot continue to go back and forth about this. It’s been months.
Please honor your posted advertised “Guarantee” of “Refund.”

December 22, 2009 at 6:04 am #327157Thanks Phil for the detailed response. I think we’ve done amany clean installs lots of times to no avail. All other templates work fine. I have spent a lot of time and money on this with Joomlancers as well to no avail.:( Now my patience has kind of run out. I’ve been emailing for a long time now. Thanks Phil.
