Hello, I have problem with installing RS Gallery 2 component.

Downloaded the latest JA Avian II v1.3 for Joomla 1.5.x pack and try to install extension: rs2gallery.zip

I can’t install and have this error:

[PHP]Component Install: DB function failed with error number 2006
MySQL server has gone away SQL=INSERT INTO jos_components VALUES( “”, ‘RSGallery2’, ‘option=com_rsgallery2’, 0, 0, ‘option=com_rsgallery2’, ‘RSGallery2’, ‘com_rsgallery2’, 0, ‘js/ThemeOffice/component.png’, 0, ”, 1 )
SQL =

Please help me.

Maybe install package is too large ?

I try to install from directory, but always have the same error: “Please enter a package directory”.

How should I enter the directory ?

Please help me to solve this problem with installation of RS Gallery component.

If you want to install RS2 gallery, you must turn on Legacy plugin first, then you can follow this thread http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/fix-for-timeout-issue-while-installing-rsgallery2-component/

Thank you for your answer, but it doesn’t work. I have turned on legacy mode and trying to install form directory as showed in this thread:

I try various combinations and always have the same message: “Please enter a package directory”.

I try a lot of combination with “/” and “”.

Help me please…

In directory: administrator/components/com_rsgallery2/ I have found only one file: rsgallery2.xml and that all.

Where is the problem ?

I had one idea:

– I upload all files (rsgaller2) form quick start to analogical directories on my server;
– then import sql tables to my DB ( I import only rsgallery2.sql file). Should I import other files: upgrade_1.10.14_to_1.11.0.sql, upgrade_1.11.0_to_1.11.1.sql … etc. ?

I try, but it’s doesn’t work.

Maybe someone could tell me what else should I do ? Is it possible to do in such way ?

I turn on Legacy plugin, then extract rsgallery.zip to media/rsgallery folder, then i go to Extensions->Install/Uninstall menu:

you can see my attach image, use Install from Directory
