January 22, 2009 at 7:15 pm #287677I just checked and discovered that sites I had previously verified are no longer showing as verified – in my domains section on joomlart

February 7, 2009 at 11:11 am #290020I can’t see what difference it makes – 2 or 3 licences. 2 is a bit mean considering you can’t do the non profit ones or personal sites for ‘free’ anymore. To be honest I can’t see why JA has reduced the number it doesn’t cost JA any more if we use 2 or 3 licences or 10 licences.
I’d still like to see a middle ground plan that allows for 6 or 8 licences or an option to buy more licences without a full renewal cost. Under the current plan if you want to licence 6 sites it costs you $210 for 3 years membership , it’s even worse if you live somewhere other than the USA currently the exchange rate means $200 cost me $400.There’s an awfully big difference between 2 for $70 and unlimited for $499. A developer may use 50 licences – $10 a licence but the majority of us who use 2 licences are doing 2 personal sites – we’re not charging anyone but we’re paying $35 each site.
I’m not adverse to JA making a profit, if they don’t then they go out of business nobody wants that – we love you guys and the work you do! I for one would be happy (as a member) to pay $10 for each additional licence. Surely the system could cope with that? “buy extra licence” button

I do not know if this is different with users who purchased a membership after the new copyright laws here at Joomlart.com.
At https://www.joomlart.com/member/yourdomain.php#
It says that added domains will be seen as unlicensed when not verified, meaning with the verification tool and the text file you have to add to your server to verify it. However in some post by MiCCAS here in the forum, I remember that he mentioned that “domains do not have to be verified but have to be licensed only”, meaning added to the domain system via your member area. From the information by MiCCAS I do not see a need to verify the domains at all.
In the userarea it says…:
Hover on “Why verified” on the left, and a tooltip comes up:
<———Tooltip———–>
Why verified?
When a domain is verified, it means you are either the OWNER of the domain OR the AUTHORISED DEVELOPER of the domain.
All added domain which are not verified after 30 days will be removed from our License System and to be considered as unlicensed domains. Just click on Unverified link next to the domain to proceed the verification process.<———–Tooltip———->
Any clarification by the staff would bring something but it is 2 types of information, the info in the member area and the info by MiCCAS in a thread about this topic. Now what?
When I add the txt license to the server, will it have to stay there forever? Will a domain be considered unlicensed when I remove it again? What is when the Joomlart.com Server or the users server is down for a moment due an outake etc., will the system see the domain as unlicensed as the txt file could not be reached for a moment, will it relicense it automatically when the server is up again or do I have to relicense all domains again and what is when a member has more than one, like 10s to 100s in the system? Do all those have to be added manually by the user again, with the tool in the admin? What is with certain .htaccess files? And so on… I have seen some 3rd party sites that harshly critizised this way of licensing, my opinion is to implement IonCube Loader instead of such methods like this.
Thanks!

I have the same opinion and mentioned the same already, to implement a “add domain payment system”, but it was always said “you have to add a new membership”.
I would say it is based on that “someone who needs so many domains more may be better with a Developermembership anyway” and someone who only has 1 to 4 sites may be good with one membership and maybe one on top.
BUT, also when it does not change anything, in any club out there it is not different…;)
February 9, 2009 at 9:47 pm #290327I have a question about sub domains. I use your templates in the following url’s
http://www.xyx.mydomain
ebooks.mydomainIs it sufficient to have the domain set up as mydomain and verify at that level?

February 9, 2009 at 10:16 pm #290328You can use the template on as many sub domains as you wish. Only the main domain is counted.
March 13, 2009 at 7:46 pm #295839My domain will only be active in 72 hours… but i’m installing a template now to configure all the board…. hope there’s no problem with that 😉
March 23, 2009 at 8:11 am #297409Hi!
I have and development license, with unlimited domains to use with Joomlart Templates. Do I have to insert all of the domains on which we’ve used Joomlart templates? Most of the time, we only use the coding behind, not the layout …
Thanks in advance.

March 23, 2009 at 10:48 am #297421Just wondering whether i can register domains for my so called expired subscription? My subscription was always renewed before expiry. Doesnt it sound fair, if i can add my domains to the marked subscriptions?

March 24, 2009 at 1:37 pm #297680Yes, well spent. I think it is the same way though in any other business as well, though I can understand that it would be nice if it were different.

March 24, 2009 at 1:53 pm #297684Yaa, if they allow me to add domains in the slots, which are empty. It would have helped, i could have used templates online instead of playing with them on localhost.
Definately can not afford developer licence, Maximum of my sites are Non Profit schools / University websites.I know they wont allow that now, so “money well spent”. But it hurts whensoever i check the domain licence panel 🙁
