March 26, 2009 at 6:34 pm #298297This is how it looks like when i go to Member area and look at my sites that i have registered.
Every one has been verified with the license code.
Crappy change in the license administration made here i think.

I do not know if they changed this already, but usually you could upgrade with 3500 credits to a 6 month and with 6000 credits to a 1 year developer membership.

Yes, this problem should be resolved, the added domains are previously added and removed domains do not show up.

Great idea, so when you do this, tell him he shall also take care of your display for the forum, you are still listed as JM Member and not both etc.. And when you do that, you may also point him on the thread where I mention that I would like my developer membership to start from now, as proposed in this particular thread..;)
Thanks.

April 2, 2009 at 2:03 am #299562I just noticed a file in the top level of my licensed domain root directory called “ja_licencekey.txt” how does that get there? Did I put it there? Oh dear…I think I should go count my marbles…

April 29, 2009 at 1:13 am #302852I just added some sites to my domain listings — sites that have been active for months — and seconds after doing this, they switched from “unverified” to “verified” without me uploading any ja_licencekey.txt files. That’s interesting!
If you think about it, this license verification thing is arbitrary and useless.
Think about it: if we say a domain is using a JA template, why would we lie? No confirmation is needed.
JA’s problem comes from 1) pirates and 2) valid paying members who did not identify their domains and therefore cannot be differentiated from “pirates.” This may include people whose memberships expired before they use a template or registered the domain.
This is a problem JA can’t solve.
Just forget about it, like every other template vendor.
Asking members to upload a ja_licencekey.txt is an inconvenience for members, and it doesn’t stop pirates from copying valid ja_licencekey.txt files and using them.
Question: What exactly is the “action” JA takes against sites/site owners with templates they believe to be unrelated to any JA membership? Do you explain the process anywhere?
Suggestion: Drop the domain limitations. Other, better template clubs do not use them. Also, you are now competing with Artisteer, and JA quality has dropped off a lot, at least for much of the last half of 2008. For that reason I will probably not be renewing my membership here.
****If this post is censored, it will definitely be blogged and tweeted with high SERP placement likely in google.****
September 1, 2009 at 8:24 pm #316048Finally all my domains are not-profit !
But my question is how verify forwarded domain. The most of my domains use my server in http://www.aieconfiance.net. Now I ‘ve learned that I don’t need licence for forwarded domains. Anyway your veriifed’s fonction doesn’t work (by the way there is an error in red):You need to verify your OWNERSHIP or the AUTHORIZED DEVELOPMENT of this domain.
Step 1. Create a .txt file named ja_licencekey.txt , copy the text specified below into it and save the file.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Or you can click Here to download this file.
Step 2. Upload the ja_licencekey.txt to http://http://www.trouverlamour.info. Once you have uploaded the file, make sure you can view the file at THIS LINK with the license key aboveI receive this: Error! The ‘ja_licencekey.txt’ file not found. but this file there is .
Help please ๐ ๐

I looked for the file and did find it. However, it is not on the domain you list it forwards it to http://aieconfiance.net/oisquercq/alphajeunes/ja_licencekey.txt This is probably why it’s not working correctly.
GaH – I’m blind today just noticed you asked how to do “forwarded” HaH. I would go to support.joomlart.com and put in a ticket.

Thanks Zipper,
Working on it now, but need to put the images on JA server, so that they wont expire. So you can expect the screenshots by tomorrow.

Images in the first post updated as per the current JA Domain license system.

October 18, 2009 at 12:51 pm #320845Firstly, sorry if this question was mentioned previously. My website is accessed via two different domains (same name, but having .net and .org) which are actually located at the same host (ie. same server, same dns, and same IP). Those two domains are sharing the root directory on my host. So that, I can not verify all those domains (can not put 2 ja_liciensekey.txt files in a same directory). In this case, can those domains be considered as one domain?.
Many thanks

March 2, 2010 at 4:32 am #334298Is there any other online material covering this subject? My developer is having a hard time grasping the concepts, and I am not too computer smart. If you can point me in the right direction that would be much appreicated. Also, if there are any books out there on the subject, that would be appreciated also. Thank you.
