June 3, 2008 at 12:42 pm #129231I am trying to fix the RS Gallery. So I am trying to reinstall on a new testing site. I am getting this error on install.
* Component Install: DB function failed with error number 2006
MySQL server has gone away SQL=INSERT INTO jos_components VALUES( “”, ‘RSGallery2’, ‘option=com_rsgallery2’, 0, 0, ‘option=com_rsgallery2’, ‘RSGallery2’, ‘com_rsgallery2’, 0, ‘js/ThemeOffice/component.png’, 0, ”, 1 )

* Component Install: Could not copy setup fileI definitely am not going to renew my Joomlart membership after this template. I have been a member for 3 years. I am so angry that you made this template. I am using it on 2 sites for a big client and i am getting screwed on it because every time I turn around the galleries are broken.
How can you sell something so terrible. I hate this template and wish I never used it. I have paid freelancers on Joomlancers to fix it and have tried everything because I get nothing from the forum. If you do not help me I will not renew my $500 a year membership that I have paid for 3 years. you are gonna lose this customer just like I am going to lose my customer.

June 3, 2008 at 1:19 pm #251713First, this error is server side i would say, your connection died out. Which php version, sql version?
Which host? Which Joomla version? When it comes to the RS gallery integration, some people have problems some dont, and in this case you are the unlucky one that gets all problems that can come i think.
I cant help you out with this gallery problems, since there is no log on changes done, but the developer who did this modifications is around here and have opened a own tread where bugs should be reported in and fixed.Kinda bored in Norway

<blockquote>Can I remove JoomlArt Copyright?
Written by Hung Dinh
Yes. You can edit or remove the JoomlArt copyright information at the bottom of the template. You can claim the copyright notice “All right reserved”, however the claim on creation of the template, such as:”Designed by Your Company”…are not allowed. Allowed: Copyright 2005 – 2006 Your Company. Developed by Your Company Not Allowed : Copyright 2005 – 2006 Your Company. Designed by Your Company</blockquote>And after checking your sites you have “Designed by KDM Design & Marketing “, “Designed by KDM.”

June 4, 2008 at 8:20 pm #251996I hired a PHP developer to look at it. Here is what he said
gatorwalls.com:
com_rsgallery2’s display.class.php had been modified to hard-code a gallery ID of 13. I changed it back to the original code.
gatorwalls.com/rc:
ja_avian_ii_m’s template.css:6312 I disabled the “width: 175px” style and moved it to another selector
I also made the display.class.php change here. It was hard-coded to gid=13 too. Finally, the issue where it was only displaying 10 gallery items per page was a configuration issue. One limit was set to 10 (Default number of galleries on frontpage) and the other to 12 (Thumbnails per Page). Once I bumped the first limit to 15, then the 2nd limit took over and now it displays 12 per page. Confusing?
