June 27, 2011 at 5:49 pm #165713Our website ( http://tricoci.pestconnect.com/) has a dark gray background in the header. But if you look at the site in IE8, it’s a very light gray and looks bad.
I don’t see a separate IE CSS file, so I think it’s another issue. With another JA template (JA Portfolio) there is a “T3assets” folder that needs to be deleted to clear out old CSS in order for things to show up properly in IE, but I don’t see this folder with JA Lead.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get the dark gray to show up in IE8 instead of the light gray?

June 27, 2011 at 5:57 pm #398695JA Lead was pre T3 so does not have the t3-assets folder.
If you could PM me an ftp account I would be happy to make the change for you. Please include a link to this thread in your PM and also a colout code that you would like for the header.

June 27, 2011 at 6:15 pm #398697Thanks Phill. My boss won’t let me send you FTP info. Is there anyway to explain what needs to be done? Am I on the right track that it’s cached IE stuff that needs to be deleted, or does IE have it’s own CSS file somewhere?

June 27, 2011 at 8:13 pm #398717There is no specific cache in the JA Lead template as it is pre that.
Just been looking at your site and to me it looks the same in IE9 as it does in FF. I can try and take a look on an IE8 machine tomorrow.
If you use IE8 you can use developer tools to check any element on a page and see what css controls it.

June 27, 2011 at 8:50 pm #398720Yeah, it’s right in IE9, but in IE8, it’s light gray. I just did dev tools in IE8 and it’s saying the element “ja-wrapper” has a background color of “ececec” (the wrong light gray color).
Using dev tools in FF (with the dark gray) it says that same element has a background color of “6c6c6c” (the proper color).
I can only find one instance of “ja-wrapper” in the css and it’s showing 6c6c6c (the proper color).
Very strange. Can’t tell where it’s pulling the light gray ececec color from.
I’ll keep searching but if you have any other ideas, please share.
Thanks for all the help!

June 27, 2011 at 9:18 pm #398723Unfortunately I download and search through this template right now as I am on an ipad posting from my sick bed so I will have to try and detail a couple of things to try.
First thing would be to use the excellent wingrep (http://www.wingrep.com/) to search through all the template folder for the string ja-wrapper. Hopefully you will find a second instance of it in your files somewhere. If you are on a linux box and have commang line access you can do that directly from the command line. If you do not have command line access then download a copy of your template>ja_lead folder to your desktop and use the above tool to perform a search.

June 28, 2011 at 2:50 pm #398886Thanks for the wingrep tip, seems like a great little program. However, no luck being able to find any other css that causes that light grey to show up in IE8. I’ll keep looking. If you think of anything else, let me know! Thanks again!

June 28, 2011 at 3:18 pm #398895you’re a genius, that was it! Not sure why I didn’t find that file when searching, but I’m sure it was user error 🙂
