November 7, 2009 at 2:37 am #145828I’m new to Joomla and Joomla Art but I’ve settled on JA Cooper for my site template and have a problem with the header-bg.gif image not changing to the new image that I’ve uploaded but only in some browsers. I’ve tried two different approaches:
1) replace the header-bg.gif file with a file of the same name to the same location
2) change the template.css file to point to a new file (header-bg-new.gif) and upload that fileBoth approaches seem to work in Firefox and Safari but when I go to Opera, Camino, IE or any other browser, the header-bg.gif file is the old version that should have been replaced with the new version.
I’ve deleted the Joomla cache and purged it, too. I’ve deleted browser cache, too but to no avail.
Any ideas as to how I can get my new header-bg.gif image to appear in this template on all browsers?

November 7, 2009 at 3:53 am #322834Thank you, ducchh. Here’s the link: http://biz70.inmotionhosting.com/~corvhp5/
Not that an hour or so has gone by, it looks like Firefox and Safari isn’t serving up the image at al but the other browsers are. Is there a time out setting somewhere that I should be managing? Still, the header-bg.gif should show up, shoudn’t it?

November 7, 2009 at 4:23 pm #322885UPDATE: I just checked the “templates/carbon/images” folder to look for header-bg-new.gif. It wasn’t there so I uploaded it to the folder. RESULTS: Safari and Firefox (Mac) ARE loading that image but NOT Camino, Opera, Shiira, IE (Windows) or FIrefox (Windows).
So, I renamed my new header image to be header-bg.gif which is the default file name. I also changed the template.css reference to that file to point to header-bg.gif instead of header-bg-new.gif.
RESULTS: Safari and Firefox (Mac) are NOT loading that image but Camino, Opera, Shiira, IE (Windows) and FIrefox (Windows) ARE loading the new background image. What gives?!!
I’ve reset Safari and Firefox to be sure the caches are cleared but they still do not load up the header-bg.gif file.
Can anyone shed some light on this weirdness?

November 8, 2009 at 4:56 pm #322944Well, I think I’m going to say this one is a browser cache problem. Why Firefox and Safari don’t clear the cache as readily ad the others is beyond me but it appears that they all (Windows and Mac browsers) are showing the header-bg.gif now.
Weird.;)
