Am I missing a module – can someone help me out please
Ideally I would like my categories to show up as well like this image

You can contact with Baico theme for better help in this case.
Anyway, you can give it a try with solution below.
Open the templates/ja_bookshop/css/custom.css file, add this rule:
#header_oc {
max-width: 100% !important;
width: 100% !important;
top:40px !important;
}#container_oc {
padding-top: 130px !important;
}#currency {
top: 20px !important;
left: 50px !important;
}header_oc #cart {
left: 150px;
top: 10px !important;
}
