Hello – and yes I’m a newbie – no coding skills!
I purchased a 3-user license and setup the Community template with all plug-ins etc on a test domain at http://www.adams-rib.com
Everything worked fine after some teething problems, but now I’m ready to install on my live site at http://www.thenaturalshopper.com
I went through the same routine of uploading plugins and the template.
When I ran Extension manager I encountered problem #1 –
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folderI’ve checked config.php and paths are good.
I’ve checked permissions on all image folders – all good
I’ve checked paths to image folders in Global Config panel, goodWhen I set the new template as default and go to the front end the site loads but it looks as though it isn’t seeing the style sheet – just texts and links.
I’ve tried to submit a support ticket here but the link to the ticket system just fetches a page full of error code!!
How can I get some help to get this fixed? – I’m happy to send admin access but don’t want to post it here.
Oh, on the test website which works fine the Joomla is v1.5.15 and on the broken site is v1.5.20 so it ought to work!
My site is in a real mess until I can get this fixed as I’d done a lot of preperation for the new template.
Hope someone can help here
Cheers

November 11, 2010 at 8:23 pm #362513Hard to say as you have restored a different site at your new location but it is almost certainly permission ore server setup problems
If the site is exactly how you want it on your test domain why not move it over using Akeeba backup – http://www.akeebabackup.com/
With a few clicks you can move the entire site exactly as it is to the new location.

Unfortunately that won’t work since this site has ecommerce, customer records, various modules etc, which the test site did not have.
All other modules/functions work fine, just not the JA stuff?Is there a paid install service available via JA?

November 11, 2010 at 9:27 pm #362524There is but it is only the template and Joomla. You could ask over at joomlancers.com
It really does appear to be permissions. Some of the folders in the template area and in the plugins>jat3 require write permissions. That is probably where your problem lies.
If I was upgrading a site here are the step I would use.
First I would take a copy of the old site and using akeeba move it to my desktop using a tool such as wamp ( http://www.wampserver.com/en/ ) or mamp (http://www.mamp.info/en/index.html) on a MAC. I would then have a running copy of my live site to work upon on my desktop. I would then install the new template in that and do all the debug there. Finally, I would take the newly created site and again using akeeba move it to my live space.

Thanks for those leads. I think I’ve narrowed it down a bit – I’m using SH404SEF, I just tried switching it from ‘mod_rewrite’ to using index.php and the template works!
Just to be clear, the mod_rewrite setting has been working fine on my other Joomla templates, but there’s some conflict either with T3 ot Community template.
I can’t NOT use mod_rewrite, have you come across any issues like this? – I’ve been searching all afternoon on here and on the SH404 forum but nothing so far.I’ve attached the .htaccess file in case you might be so kind as to take a look. (I’ve had to rename it for obvious reasons). I’ve tried uncommenting everything outside of the last section, for 3rd Party SEF.
