    Hello,

We’re banging our head against the wall on this one…

Our site has a title in the TITLE tag and we can’t seem to find where to change it…

    * We have sh404sef extension installed but it does not seem to be in the settings
    * Maybe our last webmaster hard-coded it in a file but we don’t know where
    * We looked in the Edenite template menu and don’t see it there

    Help please 🙂

You can set this in 404sef (it overrules the normal joomla settings)

In your joomla backend go to components and select 404sef.

    Then click on:
Click here to switch to extended display (with all available parameters)

Then click on META-tags, when you have that open click on home page META in your upperright corner.

Here you can set the tags you are looking for.,

    Hello Bennitos,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I tried this before and went ahead and did it again per your feedback, but no change. The home page still shows an old title that I want to remove, whereas the other pages/articles show their titles as the article title.

I’m almost thinking sh404sef is not actually running properly because:

    * When I go to components/sh404sef/configuration and “disable” it, I don’t see any difference in the urls
    * When I go to components/sh404sef/view-edit-urls, I don’t see any hits even though I’ve been clicking through the site

Maybe that gives you another idea of what might be up.

Do you have the integrated “Search Engine Friendly URLs” in joomla 1.5 disabled?

    Hi again,

No, it is enabled. Out of curiosity since you mentioned it, I tried to disable it and then went to the sh404sef config and noticed a warning telling me SEF support in Joomla is disabled and to enable it from the global config.

you are running joomla 1.5 right? as if i remember correctly it only says that when running on joomla 1.0.x. Or you are running a really old version of 404sef.

    Hi,

Yes, global config/site/show title meta tag is NO

I had noticed how when it was YES, there was a META title=”…” in addition to the <TITLE> tag.
