I’m not sure how to set up the the Home page.
I would like it to be an exact copy like (Copy as in terms on layout and mod positions; not content):
http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#joomla25-templates.joomlart.com/ja_orisiteHowever, I am not able to show the slideshow mod or anything on the front page. Also, when I try to choose the positions of the module in Mod Manager the choices are not like those shown in the Demo. The website used to have JA News Frontpage, but this template does not have have it. Am I missing something?
Can someone help?
Also, I cannot install the Kunena Theme; it says “The required file info.xml was not found!.” Is it because I am unable to install the theme; that the home page is not showing as it shows on the Orisite demo?
Thanks 🙂
My school’s website is http://www.crusadernews.com
PS: Ignore the JUser error.

August 8, 2012 at 4:16 pm #463624Hi
To have an exact copy of the demo site you need to install the quickstart version of the template .
how did you installed your site?
August 8, 2012 at 4:36 pm #463626Not throughout the Quickstart. I think the server was blocking the installation due to the size or the time session. So I had to install them Individually.
I do have the Cpanel logging information and all… but I’m not sure how to install the folder or where they go (if I directly install the contents of Quickstart.)
August 8, 2012 at 4:57 pm #463631Also, doesn’t Quickstart re-installs Joomla?

August 8, 2012 at 5:08 pm #463632The quickstart version is a normal Joomla installation the only difference is that inside it is contained the Joomlart template so when you are at the last step of the installation when it asks for sample data to install you will install the joomlart customization
If you don’t want or you cannot install as quickstart here you will find a guide on how to install single parts of the template.
Regards

Okay, here is what I have found out.
In Module Manager: in the Module mod_jaslideshow. Where it says Select Position there is no option to place it in top.slideshow or in the slideshow block. The only available options are:
banner ja_orisite (Banner)
breadcrumbs ja_orisite (Breadcrumbs)
debug ja_orisite (Debug)
footer ja_orisite (Footer)
hornav ja_orisite
left ja_orisite (Left)
mega1 ja_orisite
mega2 ja_orisite
position-2
position-7
right ja_orisite (Right)
search ja_orisite
syndicate ja_orisite (Syndicate)
top ja_orisite (Top)
top-panel ja_orisite
user1 ja_orisite (User 1)
user10 ja_orisite
user11 ja_orisite
user12 ja_orisite
and so on with the users.However, on the template settings under Layout I have set it to “All positions.” And the file has the following:
<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″?>
<layout name=”desktop”>
<!–Extra css load for this layout–>
<stylesheets>
</stylesheets>
<blocks name=”top” style=”xhtml”>
<block name=”top-panel” type=”modules” style=”raw”>top-panel</block>
<block name=”header” type=”header”></block>
<block name=”mainnav” type=”mainnav”></block>
<block name=”cpanel” type=”usertools/cpanel”></block>
<block name=”topbar” type=”topbar”></block>
<block name=”slideshow” type=”modules” style=”raw”>slideshow</block>
<block name=”topsl” type=”spotlight” main-inner=”1″>user1,user2,user3,user4,user5</block>
<block name=”topsl1″ type=”spotlight” main-inner=”1″>tabs</block>
</blocks>
<blocks name=”middle” colwidth=”25″ main-inner=”1″>
<block name=”content-mass-top”>content-mass-top</block>
<block name=”content-mass-bottom”>content-mass-bottom</block>
<block name=”right1″>right</block>
<block name=”inset2″>inset2</block>
<block name=”left1″>left</block>
<block name=”inset1″>inset1</block>
</blocks>
<blocks name=”bottom” style=”xhtml”>
<block name=”botsl” type=”spotlight” main-inner=”1″>user6,user7,user8,user9</block>
<block name=”navhelper” type=”navhelper”></block>
<block name=”botsl1″ type=”spotlight” main-inner=”1″>user10,user11,user12,user13</block>
<block name=”bottommenu” type=”modules” style=”raw” main-inner=”1″>user14</block>
<block name=”footer” type=”footer” main-inner=”1″></block>
</blocks>
</layout>So the positions should appear in the Module Manager> Position, right?
So my problem is that the positions are missing in the Module Manager, thus I cannot place them like it shows in the Demo.Thanks

August 8, 2012 at 7:05 pm #463649Hi
From this screenshot seems that you correctly have the slideshow position.
Try to clean your JaT3 Cache .
August 8, 2012 at 10:51 pm #463661I always clean the JaT3 Cache (as changes do not occur unless I do so).
The blocks do show on:
http://www.crusadernews.com/?tp=1However, the positions are not available here.
August 8, 2012 at 10:52 pm #463662I got it to work.xD
Even thought the positions don’t show up on that little screen… I can still write them in. So I will be writing in the module positions for everything else.
Thanks
