Ok totally new to this (and struggling!)
I managed to get Joomla working on my site no problem. So thought I would join up and purchase a template that would suit (they all look good)
Have FTP’d the contents of the quickstart up to the site and this is where it has all gone wrong
now I can’t access site I get error
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access etc etc
What have i done wrong – can anybody help?

Delete the .htaccess first and see if that helps, you find it in the root of the quick start package

Remove the .htaccess and see if it works.
What file/folder is it saying you don’t have access to (RE: Forbidden message)
Ok done that – now I get

Try to reupload the files or check the file permissions on the files. Did you delete the installations folder yet?

Have you got the configuration.php there? Is it chmoded correctly? Have you uploaded the /installation/ folder as well?
thank you for all this help appreciate it.
I did not upload installation folder ( as I read that if it was going to a live site you should delete it) – perhaps that was wrong
config php is there chmoded 644

set the chmod for the config file to 655 or even 777
and upload the installation file, it is this folder that contains the stuff to install thequickstart, for tutorials on how to install a quickstart go to http://www.tutorials.joomlart.com there you will find two tutorials on how to install a qs package one has voice (the one I did) one does not they should get you through

Some site’s block them if it’s at 777
getting this now
A file permissions error has occurred. Please check the permissions on the script and the directory it is in and try again.
