October 18, 2007 at 9:04 pm #123299I am changing a site that already has a virtuemart shopping cart on it over to this template Do i have to make any changes to my current cart? I created the your-cart position, and now the cart is up there…but when i add stuff to the mini cart in the top right (your_cart position), it adds view cart button…LIke it has view cart, and i click on it and it goes to cart…but then it has the same view cart button right under it, and it goes to my account information (so i assume it should say account information or profile there, but it has the view cart button???? and whatever i add up there, it puts another view cart button!
To begin install Virtuemart, you have to add these module position to your template positions: vm-fp, your-cart
* In administrator area, on top menu go to: Installers -> Component
* Browse to VirtueMart component and click Upload and Install
* Install these modules: mod_product_categories, mod_ja_vmproductslide, mod_virtuemart_featureprod, mod_virtuemart_cart.
* Extract these file and copy all of files & folder into your Joomla directory (keep file & folder structure).
* In Joomla administrator area top menu, click Component->VirtueMartWhat is the vm_fp position mentioned above for?
if i already have virtuemart on the site….what all do i have to do to make this new template work? what is the ajax product slide module? Please help!
can anyone help with these questions?
also when i delete things from my cart…sometimes it goes to a 404 page ?? if i have two thing in there, and delete them, after the final thing is deleted – 404 ?? says FILE NOT FOUND: index.php/index.ph&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=32
thanks

October 22, 2007 at 2:43 am #231311Are you using an SEO_SEF tool? If you’re getting a 404 page it might be because the SEF tool isn’t work properly.

October 22, 2007 at 6:45 pm #231348I recommend that you use sh404sef. That one works very well. joomSEF is supposed to work too but I’ve never worked with it befeore. My suggestion is to finish the site and enter the SEF function last. Also…when you enabled the SEF tool, did you make sure to edit your .htaccess file?
