    Help

I have two copies of JA Zeolite template. Both are hosted by 1and1 on the same server. their addresses are:
    http://www.greenmyfleet.com older zeolite
    http://www.securantusa.com JA Zeolite II

The greenmyfleet.com template works fine in the 1and1 environment with SEF, apache, and extensions

The securantusa.com template will not work with SEF, apache, or extensions. I have trouble shot with 1and1 for quite a while and I have had no success. I have shortened htaccess.txt to .htaccess like you are supposed to but it will not display any sections or categories. Instead I get error 500 internal server

    SO far I have
commented the suggested line in the htaccess file
tried adding AddType x-map-php5 .php to update to php 5 environment that 1and1 run
tried creating a new htaccessfile with AddType x-map-php5 .php as the only line and placing in root directory

I cannot figure it out. However, the htaccess file in ZeoliteII is significantly different than the one in Zeolite original so I am guessing the conflict resides there.

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you take a backup of your site and install it on your local machine using something like wamp does it then work? Google Wamp if you don’t know what it is. If this is with just a quickstart package then you can just install that locally on wamp and test.

I’ve had all sorts of problems with 1and1 so I feel your pain when it comes to support.

    Hi Micheal
The first thing that strikes me is the two sites are DIFFERENT versions of Zeolite one I assume is the non T3 site this is the one that works, the other a T3 site doesn’t. Begs the question the fault to 1on1 host is the T3 system of doing things, test it by uploading a default Zeolite II T3 qs installation with sample data and enable the sef and mod rewrite htaccess.txt to .htaccess etc as you’d normally do

If it works, then its some kind of added component, module or plugin you’ve added to the broken zeolite II install that’s the problem

    I hope this helps you

Hence testing on the local machine. 1and1 sometimes don’t enable all the required php modules or randomly block ports for no apparent reason. We really need to know the logs produced by the 500 error but that may not be easy to get.
