April 1, 2008 at 4:01 pm #127142This is so frustrating to have instructions that do not work. First off, the directions for install is only for Joomla 1.0 and not Joomla 1.5. This is my first install of Joomla 1.5 which was forced by GoDaddy.com.
I cannot seem to create the module positions. And to get the RSGallery to work, it seems to me the instructions are complicated. <blockquote>Note: You will need to enable GD2 module (it’s PHP module) to using RSGallery2. Please edit your php.ini file or contact your host provider to enable it.
a. Download the com_rsgallery2_1.0_modified_by_ja.zip package from download section.
Now choose Installers >> Component and then choose the component package. The Description screen will tell you that component installed successful.</blockquote>Where and how do I do this. Sorry I am new to this but can get around as long as I am directed in the correct direction. Please help as I am trying setup a gallery website. Thanks to anyone that can help me. http://www.portraitplaza.com/

April 1, 2008 at 4:06 pm #243950My suggestion is: Wait a few days and see if they release a version of RSgallery2 with less bugs than now. Read it here: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/rsgallery-problems-and-support/

April 1, 2008 at 4:25 pm #243952The instructions are NOT GREAT.
I have spent many HOURS working on things MYSELF via trial and error. NOT WHAT I WANTED TO DO. But this is the only template that has the gallery the way I wanted it so I HAD TO WORK to get as far as I have so far. I’m about to release my site to BETA/
NOW THE TALK OF UPDATE…
How will this effect current installations we already have in place?

Did you get yours to work? Would you be able to help me out? Nice avatar pic. Go JR!!! Are you a race fan? Do you play NR2003?

April 1, 2008 at 4:58 pm #243959I got mine to work, but I did quick install. I didnt have time to get THAT DEEP into it, because I got STUCK ON MAKING MODULE POSITIONS!! I found the instructions bad for 1.5 users and since this was a new install for me I opted for the quick install which was much easier. But, there is still a lot that needed to be done on my side. If you look at the forum here you will see all the questions I asked the last couple weeks. These dudes are probably sick of me by now 🙂 But I paid for club membership to get something that was done. This was probably the most complicated template I could have chosen!
I am a race fan. I am no fan of any one driver but like the sport and pretty much enjoy all drivers. I do really like JR. I do run NR2003 but am starting to do more and more with the new Arca Sim Racing. However that is for another discussion thread as this thread I hope does not get hijacked. LOL…

April 2, 2008 at 3:50 pm #244096itgl72,
I did as you suggested and installed the quickstart, but it still looks nothing like the demo. Any help is appreciated.

April 2, 2008 at 7:06 pm #244118So, here are the steps I did yesterday. I ftped all the files in the zip file to subdirectory from the root. Then I removed the installation directory. How do you install the sample data?
I must be doing something wrong. The rs gallery and all other components like the slider are not displayed when I go into the admin site.

This is going to sound stupid, and Im known for stupid questions so please forgive me. Did you RUN the installation after you FTP’d the files to the server? I mean you probably did, but I didnt see you write that and sometimes if you assume the obvious, well you know. Theres an option to install sample data during the install.

April 5, 2008 at 2:42 am #244419OK!!! I got the site up:D Yeahhhhhhhhh. Now, I had the gallery display the pics in the flash mode. But after I changed to another avian template color, the flash mode is gone and the pics display in a new tab. How do I get it back?
