January 8, 2009 at 11:09 am #136875hi guys. i have posted this questions in the right template area for 3 days, but received no answers so i am posting it here in hope to get some help thanks.
hi guys
how are you all? happy new year 2009 to everyone.I have got few questions regarding this template. the website i am working on is: http://www.bollywoodbuzz.com.au/
1. On the top where there is 4 ‘headline’ stories if i add more it would be like 1/4 or 1/5 but i only want to display 4 there and i want all the old ones to be displayed like an article in dot points like “CELEBRITIES” and “TELEVISION” so if a visitor wants to read the old articles they can click there and can read it.
2. all my fonts are different i mean in size and font type too. is there any global setting that i can set it to so all my text for my articles and everything could be one size and same font so all the text on the website is same not different?
3. in the demo of this template at: http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php they have a module in the bottom like “On Tonight TV” is that automatically or do i need to do that everyday? if its auto please tell which extension i need to install?
4. lastly when ever i load this page up i find that only half of the first image of the headline displays and when the second images comes it shows the image and the text, i dont know why this happens? do i need to do any settings? i am using google chrome
that would be all for today and thank you sooooooooooooo much for everyone for their help and ideas in advance.
thanks

January 15, 2009 at 4:47 am #286511Hi radesignprint,
I would like to anwser your PM questions as follows:
=> You can check the code of the ja news module to solve your issue. I am sorry for not being of much help in this case.
2. all my fonts are different i mean in size and font type too. is there any global setting that i can set it to so all my text for articles and everything could be one size and same font so all the text on the website is same not different? can i make any global settings to keep all my articles one font and one size?
=> It is not possible. You must remove all setting fonts in your articles. At this time, the pages will select the global settings.markb1439 Friendmarkb1439

January 20, 2009 at 4:39 am #287203Regarding #2, your CSS should control how fonts look. You can set CSS for all types of fonts, from paragraph text to various headings, etc. Fonts should not generally be set in the articles themselves, other than to specify one of the CSS classes. If you’re not familiar with CSS, there are plenty of resources available on the web and in books.
Regarding #3, there is no one specific answer for that. The kind of thing you’re seeing depends on many factors, for example your content and the source you’re using. For example, you may be getting TV listings via an RSS feed, or you may be using some other method. So there is no one answer to that question.

January 20, 2009 at 4:45 am #287206regarding # 2. What happens sometimes is that is depends on where you get the original text from, or if you copy paste from Word for Windows, with formatting there already. That will screw up your text sizes. You need to make sure the text you have has no formatting from before. One way is to remove it by hand, but the easiest I think is to copy it from Notepad or Wordpad or some other text only program.
