September 23, 2010 at 8:17 pm #154582Hello.
I would like to know why there are two hidden users in the templates I downloaded?
The users doesn’t show in the user list, but they are in the database.
And after answering this question, I would like to know how can I create a hidden user.Thank you.

September 26, 2010 at 9:29 pm #356726Hi Tienhc,
I found this already in several templates. The one I can remember now is JA Droid.
I will look into the quickstart databases and tell you the templates that have those users.
Also, I found the same users under the k2_users table, and those are also hidden in admin view.Thank you.
Jonathan.

January 3, 2011 at 8:04 pm #369879I have found this as well with the sulfur template. Their are 12 users don’t show up in the user manager – but they show up in other extensions eg SOBI2 and when viewing the database user table from phpMyAdmin.
You never mentioned how to get rid of them. Is it safe to delete them from the jos_user with phpMyAdmin?
Thanks

January 3, 2011 at 10:28 pm #369886Hi Janice.
I have deleted those users in PhpMyAdmin without any problem.
In fact, after this incident, The first thing I check after install from a quickstart (either from Joomlart and from other template vendors) is for hidden users, which I delete promptly.
You might want to check also the K2 users table, as those hidden users are replicated there too.
keep in mind that if you do any SQL import as part of a template or big extension install, you might find that too.Best regards.
Jonathan.

For k2 users checkup, You can go to::
phpmyadmin >> jos_k2_users and click on browse. Delete the users there accordingly 🙂
