OK, I have found similar questions, but none answered conclusively.

I notice that the demo version of JA University has no article content on the home page. However, I cannot see how to achieve this manually. I DON’T want to turn-off article content completely, just for the home page. (or for another individual page).

    I am using v1.0.5 on J3.1.1

    Hi

You can create a new profile – in this profile you can set Hide Main Content Block to Yes – and then assign this new Profile at your Home page or other pages if needed

Finally go around to looking at this. Creating a new profile, no problem. However, I can’t find where to hide main content. v1.0.3 in J3.1

Extensions – Template Manager – Ja_University – Default – Options Tab – PROFILES tab – Hide main content Block

Ah, that’ll be why. I’d forgotten I’d been on JA University. I swapped to JA Mero…. :-[
