I am trying to make changes in the template in the backpanel. I am mainly trying to hide the user tools to hide the cpanel from display in the website. But I always get the following error.

    An error has occured when saving the default profile..

    I am not sure what to do. I tried changing write permissions in the profile folder but still does not work.

    you login administrator => Extensions => Template Manager => ja_portolio => Layout => Default => find line
<block name=”cpanel” type=”usertools/cpanel”></block>
and delete it then apply

    Better answer: Set all of the options under User Tools on the Profile Tab in the Template Manager to hidden, and it will go away without hacking the template.
