I think this is a problem since Hide Main Content should hide the block from main page not from every page! :-[

In you case, you will create a new profile and using override profile feature to resolve this issue

1) You click to the Profiles tabs => click to create new button to create a new profiles, you named it “home-page”.
You click to home-page profile: you choose No for the Hide Main content block parameter

2) you click to the Global tab, in the Profile Override Settings panel , you add the Home menu with the home-page profile
