The reason it looks “messy” is because all your thumbnails are different sizes. The demo uses a strict 75 x 75 square image as the thumbnail. To achieve this AUTOMATICALLY you’ve got to crop your LARGE images to a proportion of that….say 720 x 720, 360 x 360, etc.
You’ll find the resized thumbnail images in images/resized//images/frontpagegallery/
You can try to crop your thumbnails, for instance images/resized//images/frontpagegallery/bw_84_100.jpg down to 75×75…and replacing the resized images you have…but make sure you do this LAST…or you’ll find the program creating even more new thumbnails which can get frustrating.
NOTE: You don’t have to stick to a square…but to get the mini gallery to not look messy all of your LARGER images need to be of a same proportional size…that way your thumbnails will all be the same size.
NOTE2: In the modules back end, under Advanced Parameters, you’ll see the thumbnail settings set for 100 x 100. This is NOT saying it will cut a thumbnail down to 100 x 100…but instead those are the MAXIMUM values for width and height. So if you have a 200 x 100 image, the program will pull down the largest original value (200 width) down to 100…and the height (100) will get shrunk down to 50.
Hope that helps.
John.
