My apologies if this should be painfully obvious…
I have my global settings set to ‘no’ for allow user registrations, and have searched through various template settings, but I can not seem to find the place where “Create an account” can be turned off.
It seems like this should be controlled by the global settings, so I am unsure whether this is a bug or I am overlooking something.
Anybody know where to turn this off?
April 29, 2008 at 3:25 am #247195if you have the settings to Account Creation OFF, accounts cannot be created, make sure that you have write permissions to your configurations file.
Also, to make your life a bit easier make sure you unpublish the login box.

April 29, 2008 at 3:25 pm #247271hmmmm, i do not get that on my site, i also installed teline of 4 other sites on 4 different servers and i do not get that error…
Did you try to un-install and re-install teline,
Also unpublish the registration/login
Another idea besides unpublishing the registration and login of teline is to find a mambot that dis-allows registration.
where is the site?

May 5, 2008 at 6:14 am #247773The problem is that the User Tools has hard-coded the HTML for the registration form, so what you need to do is go through the usertools module and actually remove the HTML code for the link and registration form, and then you won’t see the register link there. It doesent matter if global registrations is disabled because the HTML is copied into the user-tools module, thats why it is also a problem only specific to this template.

May 6, 2008 at 12:43 pm #247939I was hoping this wasn’t going to be the solution. I’ll go back and find where I saw this code and remove it from the module.
Needless to say, this seems like something that should be corrected in the template so that there is an option to turn options on and off in the highslide module. Not everybody wants to allow outside user registration.

May 10, 2008 at 12:06 am #248415I think alot of it had to do with the fact that it was designed for this template, so thats why it wasnt set to be turned off, that said i do believe they are looking at releasing a seperate module that works with any template, and who knows maybe when that happens they will add the feature to be able to turn it on and off.

May 10, 2008 at 2:52 pm #248510One of the many unresolved bugs in this template.
June 4, 2008 at 4:11 pm #251937What file do I need to edit to remove “Create an Account” since I can’t turn it off from the back-end? Thanks!
