    Hi,

I am new to T3 and am using JA-Fixel. In the quickstart there is a module position called home-1 yet I do not see it in the template (blocks) anywhere… but this is probably a related question…

My real question is that I am trying to publish the JA Masshead module into the home-1 position and I cannot see it when I do. However, when I publish the same JA Masshead module into position-1, or other positions, I see it just fine.

Is there something I need to do to turn this module position on? I copied everything (or so I thought) from the JAFixel quick-start. I am using Joomla 3.2.2 and ja-fixel 1.0.3

Can you help me please… have been struggling with this issue for several hours.

    Hi Dennis,

I try to add suffix ?tp=1 into URL to see the module position, for instance:

    http://joomla-templates.joomlart.com/ja_fixel/index.php/en/?tp=1
    http://pasquesi1.taylorbruce.com/?tp=1

As you can see that there is no home-1 position in your site. In our demo site, we have 2 layouts called: home and default, please make sure that you assign home layout to your homepage: http://prntscr.com/2ttkkl

    Hello Saguaros,

I checked and double checked, the template is using the home layout, and is assigned the HOME DECOR menu item which is a JAFixel category, which displays two articles from the category. I have two modules published to the home-1 position, but neither shows up.

    You have my credentials.

    Please help,

    Dennis

I am a new joomla user experiencing the same issue with my on-line site. I am also running Joomla 3.2.2. I did not use quick-start, but rather followed the instructions at http://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-templates/ja-fixel. In the on-line site, home modules are not displayed on pages with either the home layout or default layout. I can also publish the same modules in other non-home positions

I began my joomla education creating an off-line site on my local machine with 3.2.2 and current fixel. It shows the home modules with no problem.
I have made the following checks comparing my on-line and off-line sites:
    (1) In templates/ja_fixel/etc/layout/, the default.ini and home.ini files are identical
    (2) In /templates/ja_fixel/tpls/home.php, loadBlock (‘home’) is present in both
    (3) /templates/ja_fixel/tpls/blocks/home.php files is identical
    (4)/templates/ja_fixel/tpls/blocks/mainbody.php files are identical

OK Dennis, I think I solved it. The home position is not enabled by default in template manager and this setting is poorly named as Additional Positions. Select Template manager -> Edit Style -> General , scroll down to extended settings Additional Positions. Click cursor in box and select Home 1. Save. Applies for all styles, themes, and layouts. This fixed my on-line site (and was set on my off-line site).

    girlofsparks,

THANK YOU very much… that worked for me too…
As a work around I discovered that a leading article has similar characteristics.

If I put home 1 there, all the other positions disappear and the home 1 part grows as big as my whole screen. Any ideas?

Please try to set the grid type for module in home-1 position, check out our documentation for reference: http://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-templates/ja-fixel#extensions-config
