    Hello.
I have tried to change the order of the elements(modules) in the home-1 position.
For example, I want the facebook module to appear in the first row – first column in the grid, and the twitter module to appear in the first row, 2nd column in the grid and so on…

I have tried to change the ordering as well as the position for each module, but it ended up with a complete miss. Every time I change them, they move in different way; there is no logic in it! (or at least I couldn’t understand it)!

Could you pls help, and tell me how to get specific modules in specific grid position? :p

We have ignored order default module in home_1 position, order position is appearing in home_1: grid-pos-1, grid-pos-2, grid-pos-3, grid-pos-4, see the screenshot

You can refer user guide JA Fixel template here

What I meant is that if I give the modules (for example module 1, module 2, module 3, module 4) the following positions:
    grid-pos-1, grid-pos-2, grid-pos-3, grid-pos-4 respectively,
they do not appear as specified!
they just appear randomly every time I change their positions!

HOW CAN I GET THE MODULES IN THE SAME POSITION THAT I WANT?

I have checked on our system again, home_1 position is ordering: grid-pos-1, grid-pos-2, grid-pos-3, grid-pos-4 in module class suffix, you can test it with 4 modules with my solution.

If it doesn’t work on your site, you can pm me URL of your site and admin access, I shall check it for you.

I am also clueless. Can someone explain the logic behind the positions? I am doing trial by error but it takes hours and I just don’t get it:

    hey there,
I played around too and figured it to be as follows:
the grid 2×2 defines the number of ‘blocks’ across and down, the pos defined the starting number of the ‘block’

so, grid-2×2 pos-1 means the images will span 2 blocks across and 2 down and starts at the upper most left corner of the blocks – position 1, etc.

not too difficult, I just used an algorithm and my son’s scientific calculator :p

see attached screenshots – the one just a simple grid, the second a screenshot of the website I’m finishing today (hopefully!!!)

PLEASE: I’m no expert, I’m not doing support, just a tip of how-to…

Thanks so much. Unfortunately somehow this doesn’t work for me. My grid is so messed up. See the attachment for my positions. I got this layout by trial and error but it doesn’t make sense. There got to be a system.

it looks fine to me, your numbering just doesn’t seem to be ok;)
your ‘enjoy’ block takes up 4 squares in the grid (2 across, 2 down)

Yes but the counting still doesn’t make sense. The last position in the top is 3. When I change it to 4 it drops one down.

    Hello,

JA Fixel use Masonry (http://masonry.desandro.com/) to decorate the layout.

The position of module can be ordered via class ‘grid-pos-xx’ where xx is the order value.
If two module has the same order value, they will stay in next of other.
This order is only to apply for the markup (html generate) orders. The result which you can see in screen may be different because masonry does their job.

To manage the position easily, you need to unpublished all modules first, then re-publish those modules one by one and check if they have to move to correct position.

    Regards
