The home page and all the modules inside it are not loading.
It is quite strange because all other pages in the site are loading, for example the forum page loads if we insert the link directly.

Hi,

You need to check if there’s any kind of html code (maybe from a Word pasted article) that blocks the page from rendering.
Again that’s just thoughts since without been able to see the problem it’s almost impossible to debug and trace the issue.

Agree with Manos and you can try going to Global configuration in backend and turn on Error Reporting so that you can know which if there is any error causes this issue.
