I would like a 2-column layout with 1 left column (see demo) http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php) and have tried everything I know to get this to work on the Home page.

Here is what the home page looks like:

I removed all modules in the “right” position and I’m left with this:

You see the “main content” does not stretch to the left but the module stretches to the right?

I would like the Home page to display the 2-columns like it is on the Typography page:

Can someone help me get the Home page to view correctly?
When I select “1 left col” layout it works for everything except the Home page?

Your left colum is stretched into the right because on those pages you have something published in the USER5 position.

Unpublish anything in user5 in the stretched pages to correct this problem 😉

You are right I had that Custom Slide Module in there…once I remove it everything was fine.

Do you know why I have to publish at least 2 of the Modules in order for them to show up?

I don’t know what the module is called it doesn’t have a name but it’s a TAB slide.
“Photos to Art” “What’s New” “Statistics”

How would I get just the “What’s New” tab to show?

I am not sure why but you can always find something useful to put in them

I think if you only had one item in there it would just be a box and you would not have the tabs working!!

I have tried everything to get some content to show up in just 1 box…but nothing doing.
I do really need some way to only have 1 box show up there at that size.

I posted a Customization request here:

I am trying to get a Front Page Slide Show running to the left of the main content and the only module that it works in is the left and/or right but those are too “narrow/small” for the slide show.

If you do find some way to get this to work I’d appreciate the help.
Meanwhile I’ll keep trying to get something to work.
