    Good day,

I have a problem with the home page translation. The rest of pages are translated correctly for the moment.

When I try to translate the home page, I don’t know why it brings me to the translated featured articles that I put as the “menu item type” content of the “HOME” menu item. So if I want to go to the correct translated home page I must click on the “HOME” menu item once I am in any other category/menu.

If I pass the cursor over the language flag or native title, appears a link as “/localhost/xxxx/es/noticias-y-publicaciones/noticias-mtoc” instead of “localhost/xxxx/es/” which is supposed to be the correct one.

I hope to have explained me correctly and someone could help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @gronter,

For more detail about how to create multilingual website, you can take a look here.

    Hi Adam,

Ok. I will check again all the process following carefully that tutorial. But the problem started after install JA Multilingual extension. Maybe the conflict with the extension is because at first time I started to make the site multilingual manually (I only make two menu items in the second language -not more- and everything worked perfect) but when I discovered your “magical” extension I undone what I did and made the translation automatically. Could it be a conflict between new authomatic translation and some remaining items from the old one in the database?

    Hi @gronter,

Normally, the extension JA multilingual only make change for current items. For example, if you translated any article before, it won’t be recognized by the extension.

In addition, make sure you check following points :

    1. You must have 2 menus, each one contains appropriate menu items and assigned to appropriate language. For example if you want to use English and German, you should have 2 menus, the first one with menu items assign to English and the second one with menu items assign to language German only.

    2. You must have 2 template styles like menu, the first one assign to all menu items in menu English, make sure to select menu English in tab Navigation. Replicate the same process for template style German but select German menu instead.

    Hi Adam!

Something wrong with the process I had followed. I started again and everything works fine.

    Thanks a lot!
