December 8, 2011 at 12:49 pm #171604Hello,
I am having trouble setting the slideshow and the first article below the slideshow to open ONLY on the home page.
the menu allocation has been set to open only on the selected page but it is not function ing that way the items appear on all pages.
the site is partycentraltt.com
Any suggestions would be welcome.
thanks in advance.

December 8, 2011 at 4:00 pm #428728Join the club Allan.
This topic seems to be avoided by everyone.
There is a thread on here from someone who solved his problem with this. I sent him an email and he sent me this reply but it isn’t working for me. However it might work for you.
“If you go to my website (http://www.603sports.com) you can see what I did to fix it. Solution I used is below. Also, I found that it took about a day for the change to actually take effect I suspect due to web caches and proxies. So do the changes below, turn off the Joomla cache and clear it out. And if it doesn’t work, give it a day and see if it ends up working.
Step 1: Create a top level menu called Shop (or Shopping) for Jomsocial. The type needs to be Joomshopping->Shop (I think)
Step 2: Create a child menu to the Shop menu for all the categories. This is Joomshopping->Categories (I think)If you look at my menu bar you’ll see these 2 items right now and this solved my problem (once the cache/proxies cleared out).”
If this works for you, congratulations. If not and you find another solution could you let me know too please?!
Thanks

December 12, 2011 at 6:14 pm #429367OK maybe i spoke to soon, even though I did what you suggested and cleared the cache and ensured that the Modules are set to show on ONLY the home page, they have incredulously reappeared on every page. How is this possible?

Sorry to hear that! That was exactly my problem. It creeped back up on me and hit me over the head just when I thought I’d solved it!
I sent in a support ticket to try to get this done. Bear in mind that I had language problems too but here is the answer that I got. Unless I’m mistaken you have to create a new layout for specific pages. The profiles bit is to do with my languages.
“You must create a new profile
english with menu english assigned
1 layout german with german menu assigned then go to page assignments and assign that layout to the respective menu
after this in the profile you can choose what you want to show i have created a new layout called noslideshow where slideshow position and slidenews positions are deleted you can assign that layout at the profiles you have created before english and german so you can shows all products as you like
You can do many many things no needs to install another template you can do all with the profile override ”
If you can work with that well done otherwise I’d open a ticket.
