August 2, 2013 at 5:06 am #189427Hi All,
I have discovered that when I select “Home” layout in template manager the home page works fine, but none of the menus really display anything.
If I choose “Default” layout then the home page slideshow etc does not work but all the menu pages work.
How can I get the site to intuitively use both layouts. It seems to use only the one you save in the template manager at a time.
Also, head-search is not working at all. Not a selectable or editable template position name.
Cheers,
Aaron.

August 2, 2013 at 5:19 pm #501097It seems to me that each distinct layout – while sharing some settings/configurations – also utilize their own individual settings/configurations for certain items. I suppose you can either try to duplicate the same settings/configurations within each respective layout … OR … perhaps you can employ TEMPLATE OVERRIDES and apply them to both layouts accordingly.

August 2, 2013 at 10:45 pm #501121Hi Tom,
hanks for your suggestion, but when I use ?tp=1 on demo site it is clearly switching between template layouts.
I didn’t want this template to get too involved with overrides, shouldnt at least one of the templates come with the one employed in the demo site and if not shouldnt there be instructions in the user guide as to how to set it up to look like the demo site?
Cheers,
Aaron.

August 4, 2013 at 8:04 am #501187I solved the issue by duplicating the template and assigning it to a different menu item.

August 26, 2013 at 8:16 am #503428@mahdiit: You can have a look at user guide to duplicate template name for reference here
After that you can clone a new template and assign it with appropriate menu items
