Joomplates — nice
Rockethemes — better
Joomlart — best templates but horrible support, clique-type community (with sharp-tounged soft-brained dweebs included), and lots of social rubbish.
I signed on, looking for a simple answer to a simple question and the Joomlart people ignore me (and others) but post messages about the “next” template.
I would recommend telling everybody to hold off before joining. The owners must get it in their face — you can’t take money and not deliver what you promised.
And you can’t ask customers to support a commercial offering. That is why AOL wound up dead. Joomlart will be dead in less than six months if their management continues to misrepresent, defraud, and dump their responsibility onto customers. One fellow helped me a bit (there were too many errors to use his work though), and when I asked him another question he did not respond. Why? I found out he wasn’t even an employee. You never know who is who on this site, who is Joomlart and who is a visitor.
Bitter? Nope. Angry? Nope. But I am going to get my money back and post reviews about this site all over the ‘Net. I remember getting burned when purchasing Dutch, German and Russian developed software. I will never purchase software from these countries again. I now will add Austrailia to my “do not do business with” list. America at least has some protections againt fraud and commercial misrepresentations. Austrailia? They are too busy wrestling crocs and putting another shrimp on the barbie to take software seriously. They are too immature as a nation to sanction businesses that destroy their nation’s reputation and damage the Aussie economy. Oh yes, I’m going to make sure others don’t get burned here.
This is the second caustic post I have made. I erased the first. But they will have to erase this one. I’m going to put it on 100 boards. Good luck Joomlart. The art of fraud. Good luck. You’re going to need it bad.

June 1, 2007 at 2:37 am #221282Hi author20,
It’s pity that you are so unhappy. However, I myself have tried our best to give you the “out of the standard” support but it seemed you really need a dedicated technican for even very basic question which can be easily found on the internet. It is also very unfair when such nice person like ShannonN tried to provide support and you just get back to him with such personal attach and unprofessional reply (Note the reply has been deleted).instantinlaw Friendinstantinlaw

June 1, 2007 at 3:45 am #221287I think you have a lot of nerve doing all that complaining when you didn’t even post a URL so ShannonN could diagnose the problem. ShannonN and a whole bunch of great members are more than willing to help out if they can. They do it out of the goodness of their hearts, not because they get paid to do it.
The administrators, and moderators of this site are always answering questions and if you had waited a couple of days before flying off the deep end, your questions would have been answered. They always get answered.
I am also a member of Rocketheme and thier support is not any better, and just so you know, most of the answers in the forum at Rocketheme are answered by it’s members just like it is here.
Next time you want to ask a question, try reading the The 11 GOLD rules to find faster support at JoomlArt at the top of every forum.
I just took a look at some of your other posts and it seems that all you know how to do is complain. It’s people like you who give us Americans a bad name around the world. I even saw the Admins offer you personal support. Would you rather it if they built your site for you instead? If that’s what you want then why not hire a web design firm and pay through the nose to have one built for you.
You have the wrong idea about the idea behind Joomla and other GNU software. It’s not for people who don’t want to dive into the code and get their hands dirty, it’s for those who want to learn by doing. This template club as well as the Rocketheme club offers a set of templates for a price. neither Rocketheme nor Joomlart guarantees that a certain template will fit your needs, but what they do is offer helpful support to make thier templates work for you, but you have to be willing to accept that support.
Finally, Shannon is a good friend of mine from Australia (I’m from America). He is not here right now to defend himself, so I am going to do it for him. Shannon is the kind of person who will go out of his way to help in any way he can. Personally I am insulted for him, and embarassed for you. I don’t know what you told him in that thread, but it must have been a load. (based on this post from you). If there is a next time (and I hope not) try being friendly, that usually works better than demands and threats.
June 1, 2007 at 4:33 am #221289Well that tirade got me curious – have you read your own posts author20 – I just did.
I just think it’s shame that non members will get the read this load of tripe you wrote but not see the rest. Your statements are ridiculous and untrue.

June 1, 2007 at 5:52 am #221292Author,
I have some advice for you:1. Keep your mouth closed forever;
2. Learn how to use a computer;
3. Learn how to use Joomla;
4. Learn to be polite;
5. When you managed to do all this (wich I doubt), you can come back and ask your questions. OK!!!!Regards,

June 1, 2007 at 10:10 am #221318I will not even try to comment on this… What a load of… I would encourage people to find his postings “all over the web” and reply to them and correct him there. It just pisses me off when people act like they are 2 years old and can get their will by crying…
Further he insults all of Australia and complains that Australians cannot make software. Well, I don’t know about the rest of you people but I for one is sure glad he is not coming back here. In fact, I think he should be banned and make sure he cannot return ( ban his ip, his home, his wife, his cat… ) Whatever it takes to keep him outta here. This is a friendly place and I would like to keep it like that. 🙂
June 6, 2007 at 6:30 pm #221600Perhaps there is more to what he said than meets the eye…..a competitor getting more and more afraid of joomlart????
Come to think of it…while other templates club continue to showcase the same tired old formula, joomlart continues to simply amaze….
I got one word…ENVY.

June 10, 2007 at 12:53 am #221757It seems to me that author20 just doesn’t get it…Joomla that is. I had a couple of initial problems with the Teline Template but took the time to learn more about it and I am now very satisfied with it. A little effort can go a long way. JoomlArt support can be a little slow to responding so I used the community here to get help while waiting and resolved most of my problems. With a little patience my questions were responded to with a time problem only really caused by the fact we are just in different time zones. I found that an occasional PM to someone in the know after trying to use the forum was usually responded to much quicker. I am also a member to RocketTheme but never really found a template I wanted to continue to use because there were always issues with W3C validation and on a little older browsers for IE, etc. The Teline template works on everything and always validates for me. Great job on this one JoomlArt! 🙂

Sometimes the messenger is shot and sometimes not. This time not! 😀
June 10, 2007 at 11:44 pm #221831Everybody is entitled to their opinion but the ways in which you express your opinion are what need to be thought about to a greater degree.
The topic is based on the support at Joomlart. I can fully understand the basis of your claim as it does appear to be a bit “empty” around here. However, that gives you no right to conduct yourself in the manor that you have done. Even on the internet, courtesy, politeness, general manors still need to be upheld to maintain any thread of repsect and decency about yourself.
There is also no need to “shoot down” another member who is willing to help you. These people take their own time and voluntary to help others, why, because they are kind, friendly people.
Support will never be to an “ideal” level unless you want the expert to get their suitcase and fly over to help you with your little problems. Everything can be improved and a better thread would have been filled with suggestions on improvements in a polite tone.
I normally would not post to a thread like this but being on a support forum myself, it can get extremely teadious when posts of this manor crop up.
