I am shocked no one has mentioned about a very popular hosting site http://www.ipower.com.
Even I agree that when it comes to choosing a hosting site, the quality and the timely customer service should be more important than the price.
It’s wrong to base your decision on the fact that a particular hosting site provides a bunch of features as “UNLIMITED” ya that’s the luring word.
Your decision should be based completely on your hosting needs and your future plans. Moreover, you also need to do a little research about the customer reviews and the company’s reputation before trusting them with your website.I am using http://www.ipower.com for almost 3 years now and I did not have a single issue with them. I am not a tech-savvy guy but whatever questions and issues I had has been answered instantaneously by their awesome 24X7 online chatting help.

September 15, 2010 at 6:39 am #355562I would agree with Yerg… I’d rather pay a few extra $’s a month for a good service.
September 18, 2010 at 2:52 am #355857Most of my sites are hosted on hostmonster.com
and i also recommend justhost.com.These two are my choice!
October 20, 2010 at 5:30 am #359636Thnaks for sharing your wonderful tips those are really very useful to me at least these time only.
October 21, 2010 at 5:03 am #359776Getting the cheapest hosting sure will help people a lot. But, if there is no quality with the hosting service then it is no use too.
What I will do is search for a hosting company that offer me many features with (Not the cheapest) but modest monthly fee. I think people got to have profit too… otherwise what for they doing business if they have to sell their service so cheaply?October 25, 2010 at 1:35 am #360377The baby plan at hostgator works great for me. Although I’m looking at going into autoblogging and there seems to be issues with hosting these on hostgator. I know several people who’ve had their accounts banned. I’ll check out some of the others mentioned here. Thanks!

GabrielNovember 24, 2010 at 3:05 pm #364129Hi all. I am trying to look for a good hosting/domain name plan – it’s for a fitness/rowing site, set to music, so something with good accessebility and easy to use would be good. I’m relatively new at web design and all this kind of thing, so any tips would help! It’s a rowing to music company, if that helps to inform anyones decision!:)

November 24, 2010 at 11:35 pm #364164I’ve used to pay for shared hosting plan, got one reseller account for some time but got tired of almost daily slowdowns and reboots, and problems with permissions/php/apache and Joomla. So I changed to a VPS server, and I am REALLY HAPPY.
The main problem is build your server, but there are plenty of online tutorials covering everything about servers. After that, you can install things like APC cache, PHP FCGID, and tweak your server settings, this can really boost the page load time and it’s normally not found in shared hosting.
You can install free panels like webmin/virtualmin to manage your hosting accounts, so it’s as easy as CPanel, or do the geek way, all by hand!
For those who want to test for 7 days for free, go to Linode VPS and test it!
You get a dedicated 512RAM, 16Gb of really fast HD and 200Gb/month of transfer and you can choose the location of the datacenter, there are 4 in USA and 1 in Europe now, the price is U$ 20 for the smallest plan and if you pay yearly you get 1 free month.
And the support is awesome, like sub 1min ticket response! Crazy!
November 29, 2010 at 9:25 pm #364723I have used bluehost, fatcow and hostgator and I seem to get better communication with bluehost.

For those who may struggle to do their own linux build then my host of choice – http://www.bytemark.co.uk – offer an open source package called symbiosis that takes away all of that work for you. Details can be found here – http://symbiosis.bytemark.co.uk/docs/ch-overview.html
