I’d like to have four modules below the mainmenu and flashrotator area.
Is this possible?

Everything and anything is possible. You would have to modify your index.php file to add another module to the template. Please read up on template modification user guides to read more about how this is done. Compass Designs have some great tutorials and also reading the help files and Joomlart tutorials would be a great start!
