Hi,
I’ve the template TELINE IV. when I use the search module in the top-right (like the demo), search results appear in the bottom of home page (down the module that are in position sl1).
i’ve seen that in demo site, the search module create a page in this “path”: HOME>USING JOOMLA!>USING EXTENSIONS>COMPONENTS>SEARCH COMPONENT>>Searchbut i’ve deleted all the “about Joomla” menu…
i’ve tried to create a menu voice under my personal main menu (i called this “search”) and i would that when i use search module, it redirect directly to this page (in my case: magazine>>search)…
I can’t find the settings…i’ve read in this forum…but i can’t find the solution.
thanks very much!
Last thing: the web-site is developed in localhost…pavit Moderatorpavit

January 3, 2012 at 3:51 pm #432298Salve
Ho letto i suoi PM

Grazie

Saluti
January 4, 2012 at 8:06 pm #432549I am having the same problem, the search box appears in the middle of the front page with the correct info.. I think it has something to do with the ‘home” page default menu( you are here) which also is showing up in the middle of the front page.. I fyou can fix where the “you are here” Home menu shows up then it may solve the search issue as well. Oh if it is possible to do in English that is great if not, google translate works
January 5, 2012 at 10:26 am #432631no no…i only need to have a “search module” and that this module shows itself in each page… with the breadcrumbs: “you are here: home>>search”…but it doesn’t work!

January 6, 2012 at 6:15 am #432739Hi latv still you having that problem??
1. Go to Menu Manager and create a new Menu.
2. Create a new Menu Module and assign it to the Menu you have created. (Module Parameters>Menu Name). Keep this module NOT enabled.
3. Add a new menu item to your menu. Choose the Search menu Type for it. Save it.
4. After you have created the search menu type item, go to Menu Item’s edit page and copy the Link.
5. Paste this Link into the file /modules/mod_search/tmpl/default.phpline 3, replace:
<form action=”index.php” method=”post”>with this
<form action=”menu_item_copied_link” method=”post”>
Thanks
January 6, 2012 at 10:01 am #432756thanks! but it doesn’t work.
i resume what i’ve done:
1) i’ve created a menu named “Ricerca”
2) created a new module named “Ricerca risultati” with this parameters:3) created a new menu item in new menu named “CERCA” (now the menu appears like: “Ricerca>>Cerca”) and chosen “list search results” (i don’t have in list “search menu type”, perhaps because i’ve J1.7).
4) the menu and menu item created are set to “published”.5) copied the link: “index.php?option=com_search&view=search&searchword=” of the menu item
6) in line 3 default.php, i’ve this:
<form action=”<?php echo JRoute::_(‘index.php’);?>” method=”post”>
so i’ve tried to change this life with:
<form action=”<?php echo JRoute::_(‘index.php?option=com_search&view=search&searchword=’);?>” method=”post”>and then with:
<form action=”index.php?option=com_search&view=search&searchword=” method=”post”>but both solutions doesn’t work…
What’s wrong???

January 6, 2012 at 10:23 am #432758Yeh..the solution i gave you is for 1.5 version.i have another option but it also 1.5.so you can try it if your own risk.but please make sure to take backup both files and also the database:cool:
Go to your file structure in the back end of Joomla. If you’re working locally, that’s in your local file structure. If you’re on a server, you may need to go to the control panel’s file manager or to FTP.
Navigate to the following series of folders, from the site root: modules > mod_search > tmpl
Make a copy of default.php that you find in the tmpl folder.
Navigate to the following series of folders, from the site root: templates > your template > html > mod_search
“your template” is the folder where the template you’re using lives. If you’re using more than one template for your site, repeat step 4 through 6 for EACH template in use.
If the html folder does not exist, create it. html is spelled with all lowercase letters, NOT HTML.
You will definitely need to create the mod_search folder.It’s possible, if you’re using a commercial template, that there is already a folder in this location with default.php inside of it. If so, edit that file instead and jump to step 6. It’s possible the line you need to edit is not on line 3 in this file, so look carefully for the line I describe in step 6.
Paste default.php into the mod_search folder you just created.
Edit the COPY of the default.php file that you just made to the mod_search folder, within the templates area of the site. Change line 3 from:
<form action=”index.php” method=”post”>
to<form action=”index.php?option=com_search&view=search” method=”post”>
And that’s it! Your search results should now load into the default template for the site, rather than for the home page.
Special Thanks : Jen Kramer
