    Hello all…
In this post june 28 in this thread I was partly mistaken: I now see Joomlart indeed has implemented menu-type Mega Menu in Jateline iii 1.4.1. That is surprising and very good.

It escaped me first because my first problem was the issue with Ja MegaMenu module in top right corner.

I could only get it to work after the fix I described in this post.
And now the option for menu-type is working too!

So I hope in next update of Jateline III the bug over wich a lot of users have stumbled will be solved, and – indeed: this complicated template now has the beautifull option of the menu-type Mega Menu!!!

    Regards,
    Micrantha

Please read the question….not looking for ja_mega menu module!!!! want to use in the menu system like css and moo!!!

I just installed the plugin for JA-Xtended Parameters and yes it does show up when you choose a menu…. HOW DO WE ADD THE MEGA MENU TO THE MENU SYSTEM SO WE CAN CHOOSE AMONG: MEGA, CSS, MOO, DROP AND SPLIT???

Can someone please answer the question about implementing the mega menu within our template… like the majority of the people out there I just need a list of file’s that would need to be changed; so, I can drop the menu…

    Thanks
    Trey

    Hello Trey,
I think I read your question good:
    – I installed Quickstart version 1.4.1, had no JA Extended Parameter options.
    – Than I uninstalled plugin plg_jamenuparams by deleting it directly from database, and next I installed version of plg_jamenuparams from Ja Purity II (and published it)
    – Than all was OK: I now have the option of choosing Mega Menu instead of Dropdown, CSS etc. and I can configure it because in menu item manager I now see the extra parameter JA Extended.

Hope I make things clear and not more confused, because there is growing a lot of confusion about these options.

    Regards,
    Micrantha

    Hello Trey,

Yes, customization ot template should be copied in updated version.
The Purity II template with its plugins is a free download in download section of Joomlart.
If you cannot find it or download it I can send it to you.

    Good luck,
    Micrantha

i downloaded and installed purity 2; but, i am using teline 3… i see no way to utilize the mega menu unless i copy scripting from certain file’s over… will that even work… thats what i need to know…do i updated template details.xml with the params for the mega menu along with installing the ja menu plugin from purity— is that all we need for this to work…

i cant believe ja cant provide an answer to our question…

    Hello Trey,
I described the way I reached a working installation of Jateline III 1.4.1
You don’t need to install Ja Purity II; the download package of this free template contains a directory “Extensions”, which contains the zip-file plg_system_jamenuparams.zip, the plugin I wrote about.
    You can download it here.
(I will try adding the file to this post.)

So: I deleted this plugin in database of JaTeline III installation and installed it anew in administrator backend by normal installation proces. That is what solved the problem of the missing Ja Extended parameter option in my installation.

    Hope this helps you on.
    Good luck,
    Micrantha

but how were you able to add the menu option to the teline 3 backend…… if you look in template details no mention of the mega menu is there…

ive got the plugin installed and yes it pulls when i open a menu item; but, if i go in teline template backend i have no way of defaulting to the mega menu.. ( a choice other than css, moo, dropline etc… if that makes any sense 0

    Hello Threy,
When I open file templateDetails.xml of version 1.4.1 I read these lines (97-103):

    <param name="ja_menu" type="list" default="css" label="Menu Type" description="Menu Type Desc">
    <option value="split">Split Menu</option>
    <option value="css">CSS Menu</option>
    <option value="moo">Moo Menu</option>
    <option value="dropline">Dropline Menu</option>
    <option value="mega">Mega Menu</option>
    </param>

You don’t have these param in your xml-file?

    regards,
    Micrantha

no it looks like i had another version of 1.4.1 ( dated in april and not this one from june— wish they would have labeled it or given a different version name… ) going to go file by file and change them over….

    thanks
