Hi everyone!!
Well that’s more or less the question.
I have a JA Teline IV with Joomla! 1.6 and I need the site to be in three different languages. I’ve set up properly every aspect with the language (I guess), installed and created languages, activated plugins, created menus and modules, assigned modules to each main menu…
To have a multilanguage site in Joomla! 1.6, one menu with an item assigned as default to that language exclusively is required… or that was what I thought!
Everything is set up and flags appear and I can switch between languages and everything works fine but… the main menu (magazine menu). The module assigned in the position “menuload” never shows up in other languages apart from the one that has the default item in the language I chose.
So the thing is that I can make only one menu to work (the one assigned in template profile settings) in one language and every time I switch the language, the menu obviously is gone.
The only “workaround” I found to solve the problem is to use the same main menu (magazine menu or other if you prefer) for every language and assign language suffixes and default items where is needed. So one menu only includes every “home” and rest of items for that language… and for the rest!!! The only requisite is that this menu has to be assigned in the profile settings of the template.
Is there an alternative solution to separate menus for each language and make them appear correctly in the menuload when switching?
Cheers.
