how can i show the navigation bar like in the demo

in my template, i can only show it text-only like here:

using joomla 1.6

Thanks for giving me the login information. I have checked your site and seen that you use single article for the menu items. So that the toolbar not display. Please change it to category blog or category list. It will display well:
