my site is http://www.cheapflightsgatwick.com and i cannot believe how big the template is. at the moment the template is
Page size
1.1MBand before i even built it, it was 1mb when the template was just installed. this causes slow running time, so i would like to know how to reduce the size of the template. i am shocked that the builders of the template allowed it to become so large. the average size is around 650k
any help in reducing the size and speeding the site up would be great.

September 28, 2012 at 7:39 am #468454Hi,
The template size was 1BM because it contained lots of images. I did check again and it’s load 657.6 KB in 11.24s (onload: 11.7s) with home page
I do not think it loads with slow speed.
September 28, 2012 at 10:29 am #468477if you think 11.24s is a good speed then i am very shocked. the site was this size even without the images.

September 28, 2012 at 11:07 am #468484Hi Seasidefun,
I checked your site and here are my observations.
http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/672/2522037902.png
You can do the following :
1. Enable css / js optimization in the teline IV template backend. That will compress and join the css / js files. You will see the site speed increases.
2. Disable development mode.. so that t3 cache is effective.
3. Try moving your media items (images especially) to Clouds – Amazon S3 or google storage. You can find extensions to do this job, even we have amazon s3 component. Our this site loads media from google storage.
4. Clean up typo.css file, it comes loaded with various typography styles.. check for the styles you do not use and delete those references. Take backup before you do it.some general points to consider :
1. Its simple maths, more data (css, js, images, sources).. the heavier the site gets and will take time to load.
2. Teline IV uses modules, plugins to render the complex frontpage and its features for news template and it is heavier than other templates. It will be lighter if we strip the features, but then again the template loses the functions.
3. If you are on shared hosting, the site loading will be slower as bandwidth is shared. For purpose and features Teline series of templates have been developed, they would be heavier than others, no questions about it.
Regards
Arvind

index.php?jat3action=gzip&jat3type=js…is giving the site a very bad time delay, if you click the link then you will see the yellow which stands for time delay

</blockquote>For example, if you are not using Block Quote typo style in your site.. and have no plans to use it.. you can remove those references from the typo.css file.
